I usually prefer using a traditional Boston Shaker with a glass, but lately have been adding steel shakers to my bar. Adding this set of 4 shakers to my collection means the majority of my shakers are now fully stainless steel. I've been pretty happy with them so far. It's hard to review something that just works, but that's also what makes it easy. You get exactly what you expect with this set. They seal well, they don't leak, and they get the job done. That's all I could really ask for. One thing I've found with the all steel shakers instead of the glass/steel combo, is they tend to get colder faster. This is good for cocktails, but not as good for hands. I sometimes use a towel when the drink calls for extra ice in order to easily handle the increased chill. While this can be a nuisance, I think it also helps you know when the drink itself has chilled, so it functions like a thermometer of sorts in that sense. While $40 seems a little high (and it is if you only need one shaker), you get four shakers in this set, so it works out to $10 per shaker. That is a pretty fair price per shaker. The added benefit is that you can make different drinks for your guests with a clean, fresh backup shaker instead of having to spend your evening washing your single shaker every time. I'm pretty happy with this set, and look forward to using it more in the future.

These are wonderful professional shakers! I didn’t have a lot of experience with Boston style shakers, but I really wanted to start using something other than a cobbler shaker. These fit SO well and are easy to open after the shake. I don’t have to bang them to get them to separate, but they still create a tight seal. I have never had a single issue with these leaking or exploding or sticking together. I did learn very quickly that you have to build the cocktail in the SMALL shaker or you will ABSOLUTELY make a mess and the liquid will come out. I remembered that I was taught this important point a long time ago, but I had forgotten, because like I said - I had been using cobbler shakers for so long. The first time I used this product I made the rookie mistake of building in the big tin with too much liquid and it made a huge mess when I tried to shake for my first time. I looked dumb behind the bar for a second but now that I have a little practice and I absolutely love these shakers and feel very confident using them. They are wonderful if you don’t wanna grab a strainer and just wanna use the gap to pour without letting the ice out. Fast! Get them!

Basically, these are fine for the price. But if you are looking to equip your bar or restaurant, spend some extra money and get better tins. These don’t seal properly, so they don’t work as a one handed shaking tin. Two hands only, otherwise you’ll be wearing your martini.

These are good, heavy, well-made shakers. I did give one a try making a sidecar. The fit is tight and the shaker did its job. I will point out that the measurements in the picture are way off. The smaller one is approximately 5" x 3.25", and the larger one is about 7" x 3.5". In the picture, it has that larger part at 9" x 17.5" which would make it the size of a small garbage can. Anyway, I'm actually using these as drinking glasses. Love them for that!

I had an opportunity to try these and jumped on it. I don't drink mixed drinks really. But years ago my granny had a set of multi colored metal cups that she would give us our coolaid to drink out of in the summers. Nothing is ever as cold as iced down drinks in a metal cup. I've never forgotten it. I have seen a few vintage sets in thrift shops over the years and thought about getting one for myself. But the cups are so small. It's a nuisance to have to keep refilling your glass. I want a big glass i can plop down in the shade with and sip. So i just never bought a set. These are huge for a drinking glass, Perfect! These seem like quality stainless steel cups. Very sturdy and well balanced. They would of course work for mixing your cocktails if that's what you want to do with them. But i got them to sip ice cold drinks out of in the summer! and maybe a rootbear float or two or three! A thousand times recommend - great vessels for whatever you want to do with them.
