    • Weak magnet makes it very hard to unlock cabinets
The magnets in this product are so weak that one can barely open the cabinets. It's a very frustrating experience. The plastic case opens in half whenever the key is dropped, even from a 2 feet distance. Terrible product. Very bad quality.

Work great for our magnetic cabinet locks. We had 2 come with our kit but they kept missing, mysteriously. I ordered this package so that I would have plenty on hand in case they went missing again!

    • Falls apart easily
Most people buying this product are parents of little toddlers who are running amok in the cabinets, right? Ok, so what do little people do when they are upset? They throw things! My old cabinet locks were really sturdy and well designed so that even if they were dropped or thrown, they retained their construction. These do not. When they are thrown around (or dropped by a clumsy mom) the magnets separate into three parts: the top dome part, the bottom plastic casing, and the DANGEROUS choking-hazard magnet. They will roll across your kitchen and hide under cabinet edges. After you find them you will attempt to click them back together (you'll eventually get it), and continue to use it until history repeats itself. I was already stuck with these flimsy magnet keys so I decided to make the best of it. I opened up all of them (really not difficult, just had to ask my toddler to have a go at them) and then placed the magnets into each bottom casing. Next, I added a dab of hot glue on each of the internal ridges and then snapped the top dome part back on. So far so good. But unless your kids behave and let you use the hot glue gun without interfering, then great. Otherwise, just do yourself a favor and take a pass on these. ... show more

    • Very weak magnet. Practically useless
The magnet contained in these "keys" proved basically useless. I popped off the cover of one and found a magnet roughly 1/3 the size of the one that came in our original locks... which mostly explains why these would barely move the lock mechanism. Now if I stacked two of the magnets together, then it worked comparable to the original "keys". Absolutely waste of my money. Immediately filed for a return. ... show more
