Product was well packaged and arrived on schedule without any damage. The stones and base are well made and they are easily used. Using the angle guide helps you properly set the sharpening angle and using the four stones gives you a very sharp knife blade. They sharpen both large and small knives. Am very satisfied with the purchase. The cost of the kit was less than the cost of having four knives sharpened at a sharpening business. The knives also seem to be retaining their edge longer.

I purchased a high quality Chef's Knife and was amazed at how sharp it was. Tomatoes sliced easily with it. However, after months of use, the keen edge was getting more and more dull. Tomatoes were more squashed than sliced. I got a 400/1000 whetstone from this company and that helped restore the knife a lot - but it was not the razor sharpness of the brand new knife. So at that point, I did what I should have done the first time......I ordered this sharpening kit. After a good soaking I worked on the knife with the 1000 grit whetstone. That was sharp but not amazing. I then used the 3000 grit and that made the knife much sharper. I then went to the 8000 grit and it didn't seem to be doing a lot but I did notice some grey gathering in the water of the whetstone. When I tested it, that razor sharp edge was back. I stropped the edge on the leather and now my tomatoes slice cleanly. I even diced a tomato and that worked beautifully. So, I am well pleased! Suggestions: The kit is delivered in a sturdy cardboard box. I'd probably suggest that shipping with a long-lasting plastic or wooden box would have been appreciated. Perhaps the vendor could think more about how these should be stored safely for use over the next 10-20 years. I appreciated the rubbery supports that cradle the individual stones. For now, I'm just keeping the set in its original shipping box. I've learned that 1000 grit is good for a nice sharp knife in general. But if you want that sharp razor feeling, take your time and work up to the 8000 grit.

Mucha gente pone mucha atención a comprar buenos cuchillos, pero pocos le ponen la misma atención a afilarlos correctamente. Pero sin un buen afilador el mejor cuchillo perderá su filo con el tiempo. Este kit de 4 piedras trae todo lo que se necesita para poder afilar cualquier cuchillo y hacerlo muy bien. ¿Son las mejores piedras que van a encontrar? No. Pero hacen el trabajo bien y tener unas más finas puede significar una inversión bastante mayor. Afilar cuchillos con estas piedras va a tomar tiempo. Se requiere por lo menos media hora de remojo de las piedras y trabajar con calma en cada una aumentando paulatinamente el número. Sin embargo, con algo de paciencia y un poco de técnica que pueden aprender con un video de YouTube es posible dejar cuchillos cómo nuevos. El paquete trae cuatro piedras, un estand de madera y una correa de cuero para amarrar las piedras. Se supone que también es posible usar el cuero para asentar el cuchillo. Honestamente no estoy muy seguro de que funcione bien.

It works well if you are trying to start off and give you lots of flexibility with it just the gloves do nothing if you sharpen your knives correctly I accidentally cut myself because of testing it but besides the gloves everything else is good
