It came today. The key hole cover was a pain to get off. The key barely turns. Then I found a bunch of screws in the bottom. I tried to close the door and it wouldn't line up.     • For the Money a Good Safe
As the saying goes you get what you pay for, look at the pictures and you can see the construction, the door is a single sheet of steel about 1/8" thick. But you are getting a very large safe for under $100 so you shouldn't complain. This safe will keep honest people honest and make the others have to break a little sweat to get to the goodies LOL We needed a safe to keep our EDC and some other valuables and credit cards in a handy location like the coat closet. After a lot of searching I purchased this safe. It is more secure than the ones from Harbor Freight but the construction is a little similar. It looks good IMHO, the shelf is not adjustable which is a bummer but again, sub $100 for an almost 2 CF safe, not complaining. I spent a total of another $20 and took this safe to the next level in looks and functionality. I bought a roll of aftermarket automotive carpet from Pepboys and lined the interior surfaces of the safe including the shelf. This served 3 purposes: 1) really classy look, 2) really quieted down the safe when putting things in or taking stuff out, and 3) reduced the chance of scratching valuables on the metal interior surfaces. I also added the OxyLED motion sensing LED bar light to light the interior. Open the door, reach in and the light illuminates the entire interior. got the light here on Amazon.     • Beware !!!! LOW Quality
Received safe, used it for 5 days - lock broke / over ride key would not work - had to cut open. Manufacturer or seller would not warranty because we cut open the safe. Cheap product - would not purchase from this seller.

    • The third one received works fine, but the shelf was loose and lacked screws ...
I received 2 Safes that did not lock. Called Paragon and they claimed the solinoid that is responsible for locking and unlocking with the keypad was probably damaged during shipment. They walked me through a reset of the solinoid but that did not correct the problem. They would not replace the $15 part for me to install and insisted on returning the safes for a replacement. The third one received works fine, but the shelf was loose and lacked screws to secure it. Poor quality control is the only explanation. Made in China was a disappointment since the company is in Michigan. ... show more

    • Total pain little gain
This thing does not work reliably at all. For the first two weeks it was fine. Then, it intermittently stopped working. We would find that it would lock one time and not another. We tried to fix it and tried to contact the company, which was very difficult as they did not get back to us for a week. We actually need this safe and the company are telling us that we need to remove the electronic portion so that they can adjust it, as this happens somewhat often. What am I supposed to do for a safe while I'm waiting for them to fix the one I paid them for? This is a true disappointment and I don't suggest ordering this. ... show more

    • It is a great bargain
It seems like it has to be pointed out more and more that there are different types of products like these that serve different markets. This is not a high end safe so don't expect one. But you do get a lot for your money. This is an awesome home safe. Is the lock easily picked? Yes it is. Keep in mind this is a home safe and not some high security hard to crack safe. But even many high end safes are easy to pick for an experienced locksmith. This is an entry level safe that will put up a significant effort against brute force attacks. Seriously it is highly unlikely that anyone is going to get into this thing via brute force without a lot of work. I mean a lot of work. Its weakpoint is obviously the lock but again to defeat it requires more preparation than a typical burglary of opportunity will put in. If you need a safe with a lock that will stand up to even a casual and cheap picking tool then look elsewhere because it only takes seconds to pick this lock even for people with no lock picking experience. Great safe for the money. Keep papers, meidications and other stuff locked up from those who you don't want to have access. Unless you are the lockpicking lawer you will probably be satisfied with this safe for casual security use. You get to create two access codes and have a backup key to unlock it. A little confusing on the procedure to unlock with the key pad as you have to type in your code and then press A or B for which passcode it is. Other than that super simple to setup. ... show more
