This is a generic "universal" small engine starter relay, with bottom mounting and back mounting options. This replaced a no-longer-working original relay, and arrived overnight. I would have had to wait 2 days to get the "original" version. The cost was less than 1/2 of what the local stores wanted for it. This got my John Deere STX38 riding mower running again. Note that the picture showing the connections is not really correct. The two smaller terminals are for the key switch connection and the other if for a ground connection. The picture says the ground terminal is for some other relay, when it isn't. My JD mower used push-on round connectors, which push directly onto the threaded terminals - no wiring modifications were necessary. The diameter of the larger terminals was a bit smaller than the original, but it worked fine once I tightened up the connections. The supplied copper washers crushed well and made for a very good connection. Since this is a "universal" starter relay, it contains nuts and spade terminals that can be used on those connections should they be needed. Note that if your application only has one smaller terminal, that it is grounded through the metal bracket, and you need a 3 pole relay instead of this 4 pole version. It can work, but you'll need to run a wire from the ground terminal to one of the mounting bolts to get it grounded. The 4 wire version has an isolated ground from the bracket. ... show more
