72" Metal Privacy Screen - Reviewed April 2025 I recently installed the 72" Metal Privacy Screen, and overall, I'm quite impressed with its performance. It comes with all the tools you need for assembly, although you'll definitely want an extra pair of hands for the job. While I managed to assemble it myself using step stools to reach the top panel, it was a bit of a balancing act. One tip for future assemblers: pay attention to how you fit the interior bracing for the top—it does matter, and I learned that the hard way after reassembling it a couple of times! One of the panels had some minor denting on the part where you screw it together. It was a bit challenging to get a solid hold at first, but once assembled, you'd never know it was dented. The screen is sturdily built and heavy enough to stand on its own. The open space within the black brick pattern is cleverly designed so the wind hasn't managed to topple it over. I'm still contemplating whether one screen provides enough privacy or if I'll need a second one to fully achieve the desired effect. Either way, it's definitely a stylish addition to my outdoor space!

Looks great, just the right size to screen off a 48" wide hallway. A couple of things to note: 1. By themselves, the feet are not long enough to prevent it blowing over in the wind. To prevent this, it comes with expansion bolts to hold the feet to hard surfaces, or things that look like extremely large wood screws to anchor it in softer ground. You will need to use these, or find some other way to hold it upright. 2. When I assembled it the first time the whole assembly started to twist, so I backed the screws out and tried again. To avoid the twisting, first assemble all screws loosely (lightly finger tight), then tighten first the feet-frame screws, then the panel-panel screws, then the panel-frame screws.

I’m extremely disappointed in these screens. I purchased them to place along my patio and I expected them to be much more stable. We’ve tried three different types of stakes and none of them keep these upright. The metal panel itself is flimsy and bends when it falls. Even on slightly windy days they fall over. We do not live in an especially windy area, so this was very frustrating. Because of the weight and design of the panels, they seem very top-heavy and unstable unless they are secured into something solid like concrete. If you’re planning to install these in soil using stakes, I would strongly reconsider. They may look great, but they simply don’t stay upright.

I bought two of these privacy screens but instead of using them as free-standing, I suspended them on both sides of my porch and added some plants to make a “living wall.” I absolutely love them and even without the plants they offer a lot of privacy. They’re very sturdy although they haven’t been through a NY winter yet but I feel confident that they’ll be fine. They’re very sturdy and were easy to assemble. I’ve received many compliments on them.
