The backing is basically cardboard, but the kit includes wedges to ensure the cardboard stays flat once put together. Instructions were easy to understand and the parts were clearly labeled. It looks really nice and feels pretty sturdy. The hinges are also soft close which is a pleasant surprise.

Cabinet is of decent quality fabricated wood. Following instructions and pre-drilled holes for doors there is a noticeable gap between the doors when closed. I am using for a laundry room storage cabinet so acceptable but I would not use in a main area displayed to others. Not worth the $189 but not a lot of options out there. ... show more

Overall this is a good product. It has a lot of storage shelves, seems very sturdy and for the price, I think it’s a good value. My only issues is one of them came cracked even though it’s packaged well. The crack seemed to not go all the way through so we decided to keep it and put it on the side that faces the wall. The color is white. Not an off white. My walls are Ballet White by BM and the bed is from IKEA. The bed is a softer white than even the cabinets. I planned to paint the cabinets, but the doors are plastic like (not the same material as the unit itself), so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to paint it. I did change the handles but the ones they come with are black metal. Also, one side was easy to align the doors and the other one was not. ... show more

It's honestly pretty crappy quality for the price. The paint chips when installing screws, the back is a folded & painted hard cardboard insert, the shelf mounts aren't flat so the shelves wobble a little. I recommend buying something different.
