Watch out small white bowl easy stain on if melt and into cold it will stain can damage bowl white one. Let it cool down awaiting if stain on bowl and torch again it will fall off. Not wanting damage bowl.

    • Crucible did not survive long
This was a cheap kit for my first backyard casting adventure. I wouldn't by it again as the carbon molds only survived a few casts before cracking apart. The Crucible didn't survive more than 5 fires, I tried to preheat and cool the product as slowly as possible but I feel the material isn't quite thick enough to handle. I fired copper and bronze in this, not sure about the temps probably around 2200 F on a propane furnace. ... show more

    • Full honesty, im an idiot
I'm very new to smelting and forging, so I burned this set becuase I was learning!!!!! I burned my pants and gloves and still got a decent ingot, even with my own stupidity!

    • Had to return...
I chose to return because the cylindrical crucible had a catastrophic crack on the bottom. The rest of the equipment seemed ok, but I wasn't taking any chances.

The white crucible plate arrived damage and the tongs are very stiff with no way to adjust them. But great otherwise!
