For the kids to play with. I counted it and it literally took me 40 pumps to get it all… Not too bad. And the pump does come with it. The only problem is they only last for about 5 to 10 minutes of play. We’ve popped two already so it’s certainly not as strong as a regular basketball would be. They are very bouncy and soft as expected. I think the size is good for a wide kids age-range. My boys are playing with them all the time. They do lose some air as time goes by, but it comes with the pump so can re-pump as needed. Some don’t pump up to the same size tho. I picked up this set for our trampoline basketball hoop, which came with a foam ball that didn't last long. The colors look a bit different in person than the pictures, but are accurate enough (purple, orange, lime green, red, light blue, and a more traditional brown). Once inflated, the balls bounce well. If there are longevity issues, I'll update my review. At about $2.50 per ball, this feels like a bargain. The entire pump is plastic, including the needle, but it worked to inflate the balls easily. This would be a good set for a younger child to feel like an older sibling/cousin/parent. The plastic needle is small enough a toddler could probably eat it though, so be careful. ... show more

These basketballs come completely deflated and include a pump. One detail I really appreciated is that the way they were folded, the place you have to insert the pump was at the top - so no danger of poking a hole in the ball when you are trying to inflate it (you can see what I am talking about in the picture). These would make excellent party favors - we got them to go with an inside basketball hoop. I gave it 4 stars because I felt they were a bit thinner than other similar items we have gotten, and one popped with normal use. However, to be fair- normal use is a house of boys and dogs, so gentler households would not likely have a problem with that. Overall, I'm happy with the product. ... show more

Because you get six balls of different colors, there is great opportunity for sharing them. They are small balls when inflated, but have a nice responsive bounce and works well on all surfaces. The package comes with an easy to use hand pump to inflate the balls. They come deflated of course, but it is a small package with the balls and pump and will be easy to ship. I have two basketball obsessed boys, ages 7 & 10, but they also just love playing with balls like these. Both of my boys have those door hanging basketball hoop sets in their rooms that hang on their bedroom doors, so When I saw these balls I knew it would be perfect for them to play with. These are not professional type basketballs. They come with their own air pump which is great. Air fills up well, once you get close to filling up, the air starts to come back out. You won’t get a super tightly filled ball. They do bounce well. The value for 6 balls is good. Would be good for smaller kids, or just to throw around in a bedroom., ... show more
