It does have a backing, so it does not slip and slide on the floor. This comes folded in a box. I had no issues getting it to lay flat. I did go around the edges by hand to get the curl out and make it lay flat and it stayed in place. The fold lines relaxed after an hour or two of laying on the floor. I was a little concerned when this delivered because it came in a small square box. I'm used to rugs being rolled but this one was folded. It looks great and has grippers on the bottom which has helped with my couches sliding. This is a very thin rug and not extremely soft so if you are looking for a more plush rug this is not for you. This is not a fluffy rug, it's a flat rug with a print on it. It's convenient if you don't really have a vacuum cleaner. I just use the broom to sweep off any dirt or junk off the rug. My 6 year old child is notorious for spilling her drinks and every time I've had to clean it off it comes off pretty easily with no stain. Colors were much more blue than green which is not what the pictures demonstrated. I actually wonder if the wrong carpet was sent. Also much thinner than anticipated. Feels very cheaply made.

Rug is very nice and the price is great for the size. My only complaint was that I tried for days to get the creases out of the rug with no success. It was folded for shipping and this left square creases all over the rug. I cleaned it and that didn’t help. I wet it and put it outside in the 107 degree Texas heat, while I constantly pulled and tried to smooth it out. That helped a bit, but it’s still not flat. Placed weight on it to no avail. It was a gift for my son and daughter in laws new home, and I had to head back to PA, so I couldn’t mess with it any more. They were just happy to have the rug. This rug is very nice. Well made and colors are beautifully muted. It was a little too pale for my living room so I did end up returning it. Still, it is a nice rug.
