I purchased this charger as I can't seem to find my surface charger that came with my surface. I have a dock, so I really don't use the issued one except on rare occasions where I'm traveling and don't want to bring the main hub. It charges the surface quickly, efficiently, and the charger is put together pretty well. It works well as a replacement, price was right and it does what it says it will do. This charger works great with my Surface Pro 4. I got the device for free, was told it might not even work because the guy never got a charger. I bought this one because of the cheap price and was glad when I saw the device boot up instantly. The cable charges relatively quickly, took about 2 hours for a full charge from zero percent. the magnetic connector is strong and isn't easy to fall off. it only heated up under strain as I was resetting the device, but as soon as it was in regular condition usage it cooled down to room temperature.
