This aluminum expansion tank is a work of art. An amazing value for the price. I've owned many BMW's over the past 20 years - including the 3 currently in my driveway. The plastic expansion tanks will give way eventually often resulting in being stranded along the road. Preemptive replacement is the best way to avoid this frustrating experience (I've experienced it twice before learning my lesson). The older style (tall/slender) tanks were especially prone to failure, but this style (E70 X5 in my case) has also had reported failures. By swapping out my original plastic tank for this aluminum unit, I don't anticipate having any more failures. Another suggestion to prevent problems is to keep your system only filled to he minimum full level. This provides the maximum air volume in the system to allow "cushion" in the event of an overheat situation. All the fittings and attachments look perfect. The tank includes a new level sensor in the bottom, and also includes a new 2.0 bar cap. This is a curious inclusion, as I thought BMW entirely went away from the 2.0 cap in favor of the 1.4 bar cap that my E70 uses. Even on my older models that came with 2.0 bar caps, I replace them with 1.4 bar caps to allow pressure to release more quickly and hopefully prevent a catastrophic failure in the event of an overheat. I think this tank is a no-brainer given the price. Why risk being stranded by a plastic tank that is a known weak point? If your BMW's plastic tank is more than 10 years old, I think it is wise to replace it one way or the other. With this tank costing less than an OEM BMW plastic tank, it just makes sense.

I replaced the original coolant reservoir on my Silverado 2500HD because the OEM unit is known to develop cracks at the radiator hose connection over time. This appears to be a common failure point on the factory reservoir, likely caused by repeated heat cycles and normal engine vibration. Even though the rest of the tank may look fine, that connection becomes a weak spot and can lead to slow coolant loss. The 603-009 Radiator Surge Tank Coolant Reservoir is noticeably better built than the original. The plastic feels thicker and more rigid, especially around the hose connection area where the OEM version tends to fail. Mold quality is excellent, the seams are clean, and the mounting points feel solid rather than flexible or brittle. Overall, it gives the impression of a more durable design intended to last longer than the factory part. Fitment on my 2500HD was exact. All mounting points lined up perfectly, hose connections seated securely, and the level sensor transferred over without any issues. Installation was straightforward with no modifications required. Once installed, the cooling system holds pressure properly, coolant levels remain stable, and there have been no leaks or warning lights. This reservoir is designed specifically for 2500HD and 3500HD trucks, and it fits those heavy-duty applications exactly as advertised. It is important to note that this part does not fit half-ton models and will not replace the coolant reservoir for a 2017 Sierra equipped with the 5.3L V8, which uses a different design. Overall, this is a high-quality replacement that compares very favorably to the OEM part and, in key areas, feels better constructed. If you own a Silverado or Sierra 2500HD or 3500HD and need a dependable replacement without paying OEM pricing, this is an excellent option.

Excellent repacement coolant reservoir tank for 2012-2020 Sonic. This is made very well and looks and feels just as good as the original one did when it was new. This is easy to install by just removing the 2 fasteners and pulling the hoses off the old tank, then puting this one in and reconnecting the hoses and you're done! Easy! This one is a much better value than getting an OEM one from the dealership because this works just as well but costs far less. This one fits great and fixed the leak I had with the old tank that had a small crack due to the plastic becoming brittle after 12 years of engine bay heat cycles. My favorite part is the packaging because they definitely used the perfect amount of foam squares in the box to keep it from shifting during transportation :|
