  • To Each Their Own
Color: Blue Switches
I am a huge, Do IT YOUR SELF person. This keyboard on its own is pretty okay. It's not the best or worse, and for it's price it's not bad at all. As someone who bought this to mod it and change it- here are some tips and tricks i had found. 1st- This Keyboard obvisouly isn't meant to mod past Changeing Switches and Keycaps. On their own, the switches are alright and useable. They are scrachy and echoey but that isn't a switch issue but the keyboard itself. The switches themselves are really easy to break and ruin. While pulling them out they were really hard to pull and I easy broke many of them. Meaning, if you aren't going to chnage the switches, don't touch them. 2nd- The Board is hard to open to mod. Many screws and they are tight on there, but after getting them off I found out why the sound of the switches is so echey and scratchy. If you want to improve the sound of your board without removeing the switches or just improveing it, this is for you. After pulling apart the face place and switch board (you can try seperateing the plate and switchboard without removeing the switches but I hadn't found a way, so from what I understand you have to remove the switches) there is a a spring on the switch board that allows for the board to bounce and be more pillowy. It gives space between the faceplate and the switchboard. I am not one to care for the flex of a keyboard, I am more interested in the sound. So I cut off the spring and added foam inbetween the faceplate and switch board. That fixed the issue completely. 3- I ended up tape modding the board and adding P.E foam the bottem to help with the echo and sound. I used Akko Cream Blue Switches and also bought new keycaps a while back that I had painting and recolored. Here are some things to know if you aren't going to mod it like I had. The over all keycaps are pretty good quality. I think they are pretty light for myself but they aren't bad at all. The switches are cheap and honestly I think if anything, invest in getting knew ones. The shape of the board is great. Its a low profile and have legs to make it rise more at an angle if you want it. The board is really nice for the price over all. For no customizeing and price it's a good 4/5 star for me. But one issue I have found is the lights. The R.G.B is customizeable. With a app (Normal at this pricepoint). I wish the app was given on this buying page for easy access. But I found the only working link on Clay Faker's Youtube Video about the Z-11. The site is a chinese eyspc.com and you have to find the Z-11 name in the Chinese Downloads. Sadly the only download that worked for me is the regular Z-11 download that allows you to modify the keys and what they do. So for gamers this is a helpful app to use. Sadly for us that like colors, it can not be changed. Even though it makes it look and sound like you can change the colors, it does not make it obvious that this is infact only one color for the light. You can choose settings for the light. But you can not change its color. Which honestly is really sad. Overall I give it 2/5 stars for customization. For someone who likes to mod this board is not a good option. ... show more

  • Excellent value with a small QC issue
Color: Red Switches(Gray White)
To get right to the point, this keyboard is a good value and pleasing design with thoughtful features, but the one I got has a broken LED under the letter R. I don't use the backlight that much so it doesn't feel worthwhile to return it, but the quality control could perhaps be better. However, in other respects the build quality is great for the price. It has a lightly textured metal top plate that curves at the front and back, no rough edges, and the keys are level with each other in each row. The spacebar has a little wiggle and is louder than the other keys, but not annoyingly so. The keyboard rocked slightly when I first set it on my desk, but after a day of use I'm not feeling that anymore--I think it just needed a little pressure to level the feet. A white USB-C to USB-A cable is included. It would have been nice to have a right-angle USB-C connector since the port is on the left side of the keyboard and as it is, the cable sticks out kind of far on the side. But this is just a minor quibble. The switches are apparently hot-swappable, though I have not tried this. Others have noted only certain types of switches will fit, so research if you have swapping in mind. A big reason I chose this keyboard over other lower-end 61-key ones was the arrow key implementation. Here they are accessed using the Fn key + the letters WASD. On some others I looked at, you had to hold a Fn-lock key combination for 3 seconds and then the arrows were on keys including /?, which was a no-go for me since I use question marks as well as the arrow keys a lot when typing at work. Small gripe: the lack of F13-F15 keys means I can't use those to control brightness on my Mac; some of the other alternate functions on the F keys for the Mac, like volume up/down/mute, are likewise nowhere to be found. Most likely some key mapping software would give a workaround, but I'm on a managed desktop at work without admin rights and don't want to go through the hassle of getting new software approved and installed. It's not a big deal, and I can use the keyboard for everyday work without any quarrels. Mac users will find that the keys in the Command and Option locations have their mapping swapped--I went into the Keyboards panel in System Preferences and switched them for the sake of muscle memory. I have two full-sized keyboards with blue switches and love the typing experience, but was worried they were too loud for my officemates and wanted to try red switches as a quieter alternative. I also have been using my mouse left-handed for years to avoid stretching far to the side past the number pad on standard keyboards. This 60-percenter lets me put the mouse on the right without a stretch, and takes up less desk space while still offering a full-size experience for typing text. The switches are smooth and quiet--no grinding or bumpiness. When the keys bottom out they still make more noise than a membrane keyboard, but it is much quieter than blue switches and I no longer worry about creating a cacophony for my coworkers. I do miss the tactile feedback of the blues, so maybe browns are in order. The quest continues! :-) I like the stock keycaps which I think may be OEM profile, and it's nice that the manufacturer includes an alternate orange space bar (which is free of the E-YOOSO branding on the gray one) and orange escape key (which is missing the `~ character markings). The white-and-gray color scheme reminds me of old typewriters. The backlight is very bright and a yellow-green color, more green than it appears in the photos--like a yellow highlighter. It shines clearly through the legends with the exception in this case of the letter R. There are a ton of lighting effects and you can choose per-key illumination (just lit up or not--no RGB here, only yellow). Bottom line: broken LED aside, I am loving this keyboard. It is cute, comfortable, has a pleasing sound and feel, and offers most functionality of a full-sized board while saving desk space. I got this for around $22, and feel it is well worth the money. Will keep my eyes out for other E-Yooso keyboards in future. I did notice the sellers tend to change the pricing structure frequently: one day the list price will be lower and the discount lower, too; another day the list price will be higher and a higher discount is offered, so the price does not change that much. But some switch types and colorways may be on sale for less overall, so pay attention. ... show more

  • A good little board for the price and even better on sale.
Color: Blue Switches
Great little low profile board for the price. The switches are decent mx clones and the sockets fit snugly. The case has a decent weight to it and isn't going to move unless you pick it up and move it. The stock sound is quiet enough that it won't go through most walls. The blues are a great balance for typing and gaming. The only down side is the function layer isn't isolated so not that useful if your doing MMOs or the like ... show more

  • Impressed
Color: Blue Switches
I thought that this keyboard would turn out to be a cheap membrane keyboard like many others. I read that it had actual blue switches but I just was a bit skeptical. I bought it and when It arrived and I tested it, I was impressed. For the cheap price of about $15 (Black Friday prices), you got blue switches that don't sound the best but still, they are blue switches. Once I did a few mods on the keyboard and replaced the switches, it sounded niceeee. Enjoyed this keyboard a lot. Can definitely game! ... show more

  • Nice small keyboard
Color: Red Switches
I bought this because I needed a keyboard, always wanted to try a 60% It's good for someone who hasn't had one before. Not terribly loud, but not quiet. Responsiveness is good. It also felt heavier than I expected and it doesn't feel super cheap. Got it for 18 buck, would by again. Only downside is no arrow keys unless you use fn, but that's a 60% - other than that I recommend! ... show more
