So far seem like very nice sheets for the price! It was surprisingly tough to find black cotton sheets, so I thought I'd give these a try. They're not ULTRA inky black, but I honestly didn't expect that from cotton. They are actually black though, not dark gray or navy (we'll see if they fade). The texture definitely reminds me more of old-fashioned crisp cotton sheets rather than the usual T-shirt-soft cotton. They aren't super plush and soft to the touch, but are more crisp and silky. Personally, I like the texture. They sleep cool, which is nice as I'm very hot-natured. If you're used to microfiber softness, these will probably feel scratchy to you. IMO they are not as soft and plush as the item description suggests, so that's why I'm taking off a star even though it wasn't an issue for me. The construction seems good so far - no apparent stitching problems or flaws with the fabric. Love that the pillowcases have the envelope closure, and that the pack came with two extra cases. The elastic on the fitted sheet is pretty substantial and goes all the way around the edge of the sheet. It fits easily on my fairly thick pillowtop mattress. I washed them straight out of the package before using them (per the instructions on the tag), and they came out with no issues. No dye bleeding either as far as I could tell, which was a concern since they are black. There wasn't much noticeable softening upon first wash, but they did come out with surprisingly few wrinkles. I've only washed them once so far and will update with how they hold up. EDIT: After several months of use and washing, they're holding up great! Color is still true, no seam or fabric issues, and no pilling! I actually do think they've gotten softer as well. Loving these sheets, especially for the price! Increased my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I love this company for a variety of reasons including meeting OekoTex standards as well as their products being packaged in 100% recyclable paper. I also love that I was able to purchase sheets individually when all I needed to replace was a fitted sheet...no unnecessary consumerism. This purchase was a 6-piece set in a gorgeous shade of lavender. They were a little more rough than I wanted at a lower thread count than previously purchased, but the good outweigh the meh. Now for the best part: in less than 2 months, one of the pillowcases fell apart at the seam. This company was easy to reach, responded quickly, was very cordial, and sent a replacement...all in less than three days. Way to go California Design Den! Will definitely buy again. ... show more

Bought this queen set because of the peacock color, the thread count and the 100% cotton fiber content. Completely satisfied with my purchase. Just fine after the first washing but getting softer with each laundry cycle. No color fade at all. No wrinkles because I take them out when the dryer stops and back on the bed they go. I'm not into lots of sheets (I can fold fitted sheets but it's a pain) so this is my only set for this bed. Big fan of the pocket inside the pillowcase because it "hides" the pillow, protects it from dust and creates a finished look. The pillowcases have piping only on one side which I like because I flip my pillow for freshness and going by the piping I know which side I already slept on for a couple nights. The fitted sheet is elasticized all the way around, not just top and bottom, and the elastic is inside a casing - these are quality features. All of the stitching is tight and perfect. The pricing is very reasonable, especially when you consider the quality and details. I highly recommend these sheets and this company. ... show more

Absolutely LOVE these sheets! I've purchased two sets so far, and am very happy with both! So smooth, soft, and comfy! As for the review about the PILLOWCASES having pocket on one side, they are made that way purposely to KEEP YOUR PILLOWS IN! Yet another mark of the high quality! The fitted sheets are also sewn to last- the elastic is sewn in so well under layers of the sheet fabric folded around it- these will not be coming apart like cheap sheets with exposed elastic edges. ... show more

    • Pretty color but terribly rough & scratchy
These sheets are the perfect color I was looking for... the Modern Aqua Spa is exactly as pictured and beautiful. However, though these seem somewhat soft when handling, they are incredibly scratchy to sleep in. Even after a long wash and double the fabric softener I normally use — and they are starting to look worn after that one wash — these are so uncomfortable that I kept waking up throughout the night whenever I moved and couldn’t wait to get out of them in the morning. I’m fairly convinced that these aren’t 100% cotton... they feel like no cotton sheets I’ve ever owned, more like polyester. So disappointing, especially compared to my last sheet set from Feather & Stitch, which are infinitely more comfortable, soft, cool and smooth. Unfortunately Feather & Stitch doesn’t offer very many colors... back to the drawing board 😩 ... show more

Excellent buy ,so glad not to be lied to, they feel good, they wash great. Ok now im looking for more colors my only concern is if the other colors have the same dimensions , i will update to be sure, the pillow cases not being completely stitched down on the inner flap of some cases is an issue , but not enough to stop the purchase, DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR comparing against others on the market , these sheets win in price and in quality period; . , but send it back if pillowcases arent stitched down. Enough returns and im sure they will fix that isuue, i own 4 sets ... show more
