Easy to set up, had to youtube how to pack it back up, It don't take up much space when packed away. The only thing I didn't really realize before buying , was how SHORT It is. An adult can not stand up in this tent. It is for sleeping only. You really can't do much else.

There have been a lot of mixed reviews on this tent and I have waited to post my review until we had used it in every configuration and in all kinds of weather. Overall this is a great tent and well worth the money. Set up takes five minutes including staking it down. I recommend buying sturdier stakes than what is provided. Also the tent poles supposedly for the front canopy are not necessary and we have never used them. Folding it back up is another story altogether. It does take some practice to get it right and it does take two people to make it easier. The key to folding the tent up correctly is twisting it into a figure 8 once you have gathered both sides together, then putting both halves of the figure 8 together and then twisting it into a figure 8 again to get it to the size that will fit in the bag. My wife and I had to practice it about a dozen times while watching the video to get it right. Hopefully these instructions will help since the ones on the bag of the tent are not really clear. The size of the tent is perfect for two adults - I am 6'2" and my wife is 5'9" and we both fit in there no problem. We have used a king size air mattress in it and it does fit but you will not have room for anything else. We have also used two adult cots in it and they do fit with just a little extra room. If you put cots in this tent you have to be very careful when putting them in and taking them out that you don't rip the floor. This tent handles weather really well. In warm dry weather the vents keep the tent as cool as a tent can be in 90 degree weather. In the cold it does keep the wind from penetrating although when it gets to freezing temperatures it is going to be very cold inside the tent so plan accordingly. With regards to rain - we have had no problem with our tent leaking or handling light to moderate rain storms. All of our stuff stayed dry during both storms. However I recommend putting a tarp underneath your tent if the dew level is high - in times when there is a lot of dew on the grass the floor of the tent tends to get wet. Overall this is a great tent for the money the only real issue is folding the tent back up after use and that is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. I have no complaints! This tent was easy to put up and take down. Watched tutorials to put away because I heard it was tough to collapse, so tutorials helped 100%. I don’t know for sure if it’s water proof, but my guess with the double layer design, it may be waterproof. I remember camping in rain one time with other tents and as long as you didn’t touch the inside of the tent, the water just rolled off. With this design you have less chance of touching the the outside layer. All in all, this is the best tent I’ve ever had. I have to say although, I’m not one of those adventurer campers, just the family style camping a couple times a year in the summer. ... show more

    • Not what I thought of in a tent after 20 years.

I have just got back from 2 days camping. Nothing too crazy but enough to try out this tent and the other gear I picked up. Area was dry and flat, windy with 40F nights and 90F in the day The tent was really easy to set up. The stakes folded over but were still usable. I picked up some better ones before heading up just in case they broke. It was easy to get inside but is much shorter height wise than I thought. If it is windy (which it was pretty bad on the second night), you need to tie down the sides or it folds over. Otherwise it stays up fine with the door and opposite end tied down. This is 2 tents in 1. This is not what I thought after 20 years of camping. The outside is a waterproof tent without a floor. They then inserted a second tent that is mostly mesh with a floor. Then a floor is attached via plastic hooks. We are used to sleeping in a tent with all of our gear. We had 2, 6ft adults and 1 100lb dog. We did not feel like we had enough room for all of our gear with a queen size foam mattress topper as our bed and nothing else inside but blankets. The outside (secondary tent) area did not feel right to leave my boots due to the bottom not being sealed and spiders/snakes/etc in the area. Due to the dual tent design, you need to either open the window vent flaps from the outside or reach through 2 zippers to unzip the flap and disconnect the velcro but you can’t roll it up from there. The entrance is also a flap on the outside of the tent and has an inner layer as a vent. The floor… We placed the foam described above on to the floor. We placed 2, 1980’s sleeping bags(broken zippers) on top of that and our new sleeping bags on those as more of a blanket. The foam was soaked on the bottom when we packed up. It did not rain or have any adverse weather other than the wind. The interior door: It is mesh… just mesh…. Do you have a dog? Do you need to leave your pet inside late at night to keep them safe? This is not the tent for you. Luckily my pup only put a small hole in it but she didn’t know it was there. We plan to fix it with screen/mesh and thread but any dog that scratches will get out of this tent with ease. Please, if you want this super easy tent, do one thing: Once you get it, take it outside and open it. Put it up (with stakes and entrance polls) and learn how to take it down. This tent took 3 people to figure out the final twist to not break the poles inside. It took us roughly 20 minutes to take it down due to the confusion but now I understand it better. Understand what you are getting. This is not a major brand but it is a tent. I feel for the price I could have done much better but I now have a second tent. ... show more

Got this for beach camping because we needed doors in the front and back for airflow. What I liked - two doors, packs small and light, is truly pop up, roomy inside, has small pockets inside so you can easily keep track of essentials. Packing up is easy once you know how it works….twist like a figure 8 then fold the loops on top of each other. The are instructions on the tent carrier itself. if you’ve used anything else that pops open it works just the same but larger and more loops. What I didn’t like - Sand stickers to the inner fabric and is hard to sweep out, the side windows have zippers but they are like slits rather than wide openings. ... show more
