As several other reviewers have mentioned, the quality of this costume jewelry is much better than I expected when I ordered it. Like most other people, apparently, I also bought this set to use as part of a costume for a party, and I assumed that I was just purchasing cheap plastic spray-painted gold. That is definitely not the case with the actual items in this set; I was blown away by how much I got for the price. The necklaces and the rings both have actual weight and heft to them, and are not made out of cheap, lightweight plastic. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled each piece out and discovered that it was both heavier and more authentic looking than expected. Not that any of these items will be mistaken for real jewelry, but they are certainly more detailed and of better quality than I anticipated. I’ve worn these a couple of times, and the gold plating still looks pristine - no scratches or fading. I've been trying a bunch of costume jewelry lately just to have some fun, and my kids have been wearing it for spirit days at school. I really wasn't expecting much with these, but I was extremely surprised to learn that the quality is excellent. All of the jewelry has a very heavy feel to it, and it's definitely not cheap feeling. My favorite is the dollar sign inside the round ring; I didn't realize when I ordered it but the dollar sign SPINS AROUND inside the ring! Wow was I shocked when I opened these! I expected less quality for costume/play jewelry. The necklaces are quite heavy, both chains and pendants! Pendants can be removed. Nice large clasp. My daughter always has spirit days at school and has been wanting "rapper" necklaces. The last spirit day was rhyming with a friend so she went as "rapper & napper". These necklaces are so perfect!
