Purchased this to replace a very old heavy chandelier. You will have to assemble this but once that's done it didn't take me long to put it up. It does not come with a hanger so you hang it from the plate while you're connecting the wires. I ended finding something I had at home that worked. As mentioned before by others the cord is long and I cut it so it would fit inside my ceiling. I also liked the fact that the maximum wattage is listed on the sockets. I did buy LED lights and a dimmer for the chandelier. One thing I wanted to mention - If you do decide to purchase a dimmer for LED lights make sure it's a universal one (it will say so on the package). So far it's working great ... show more

I love it, it’s perfect…creates a lovely ambiance in my dining room…completely changes the feeling of the room. It’s very well made, uses 6 candle style lights that can be up to 40 watts each. It was easy to install. Mine is wired into an adjustable light switch, so it can be very bright or dim as needed. You cannot beat the price! This chandelier exceeded our expectations! It was easy to put together and install. The only issue was as another reviewer noted, was that the wire was too long. Instead of cutting it, we rolled it in a circle and put electrical tape around it and tucked it into the top base at the ceiling. We didn't want to take any chances with cutting the wire. We are also using daylight bulbs which look bright and beautiful. Just be sure to buy the correct base bulbs and no more than 40 watts. ... show more

The only thing I had to do is cut off some of the wire so it would be so long. I held it up to were it would be installed and adjusted the height and cut the remaining wire off and then wired it in the ceiling. This was my first time ever doing something like this and I was able to do it. So you can to. Don't doubt yourself. Also get the daylight bulbs white lights. ... show more
