The lights are bright but we couldn’t get the doubled sided sticky tape to keep the lights up. The cord is 95 inches long and there’s a programmable timer also.

I'm starting out giving these lights 5 Stars. I'll explain why. I have another set of these that I have been using for several years now. I use them for starting seedlings for my garden. Anyone who has started seeds knows that a common problem is the seedlings getting "leggy" and tipping over. This is almost always caused by not having enough light, so a true test of any LED grow light setup is if it can produce seedlings that will have stout stems and not tip over. These lights produce beautiful, sturdy seedlings! That's just what I need from them! See my attached pictures to see my setup. I attached the strips to a piece of really heavy cardboard using the supplied screws. I used a 3" spacing, center-to-center. The other three pictures show it in action - the first just shows the reflection of the lights in my countertop. The second shows it with a standard 10x14 tray and some cell packs. The last one shows it will some very small onion starts! This tray is the perfect size to fit under these light strips. (I should mention that there are two "standard" tray sizes, the most common is the larger 10x20, but the 10x14 is also a handy tray to use.) Once I got this all set up, I measured the light output and it was equal or greater than my first set, so I know that there is enough light. It has a timer 6/12/18H which I really like. I use the 18H setting for my seedlings. 16-18 hours is the recommended amount of light to produce strong seedlings. I do start onions from seed with these lights and they should only get 12 hours of light or it messes them up and they will start to bulb too early, so the 12 hour setting is also nice. The "dimmer" ... I never use it, just leave it on high - you need all the light you can get! Lastly, keep your plants close to the lights. I see people saying that their lights are not "working" and they don't have the lights close enough to the plants. You can take the most powerful lights made and put your plants several feet away and they won't do well. Light intensity falls off fairly quickly as you move away from the lights. I suggest starting at about 3" from the top of the seedlings to the LED light strips. Again, a 5 Star review for really great lights for my application. ... show more

I actually got these grow lights to use in my seed starting process. I use a warming mat, which I also got from Amazon, under the tray of seeds I got started under a plastic container. Once the seeds sprouted, they needed the proper light to help them grow. These lights were very effective in making that happen. Previously, I used a regular florescent light and found that to be very poor for this job. These lights weigh practically nothing and were very easy to assemble. I really don't use the timer because I leave the lights on 24/7. For what it does for me, these grow lights are well worth the money. Don't know for sure, but I'm pretty certain they'll last many years, especially since they'll only be used when trying to grow plants from seeds. This should save lots of money since I won't have to purchase plants from the nursery anymore. ... show more

I got these to replace some older strips that had burnt out on one of my plant walls. They were super easy to install and are really bright, though the brightness can be adjusted, and they've got a steady glow without flickering. I have a wide variety of plants, so I use the full spectrum feature, but that can also be adjusted. The one thing that I think is better than my old grow lights is the timer that can be set for 6/12/18 hours. My old ones only went up to 12 hours. They do get a bit warm, so make sure to leave enough space between light and leaves to prevent crispy leaf tips. I use them in my plant room year-round, but they'd be perfect for supplementing plants that are brought inside for the winter months. I got these lights to supplements, an old chest that I turned into a makeshift greenhouse. These lights are perfect and don’t give me tons of growth for the plants.
