Took a chance on this unit, as i am no stranger to car audio and am an experienced installer of more than 20 years, and i cant recommend it. The touch screen is amazing, super vibrant and sensistivity is perfect. The issue i have had is with it holding memory, as it always defaults back to FM radio when i start my car, and i am certain everything is properly connected. Also, the volume at one point wouldnt go up or down audibly despite going up and down visually on the unit, and at one point was stuck muted. These are all issues i have had since installing this unit yesterday. Oh, it also randomly restarted at one point about 15 minutes after i installed it. This will be the only time i try one of these cheap units because i dont like wasting my time and money just to have a glitchy unit within the first day. ... show more

I can't speak to the Android functionality, but the CarPlay functionality appears to work fine. I wanted to test it out before I ordered the single DIN adapter and wiring harnesses so I threw it on the bench. It will still be a little while before I finish the installation, but I wanted to report what I found so far. So in my testing I found it to power up pretty quickly, and things seem pretty responsive. The screen visibility is pretty good. It does not have a volume knob but I plan on using the steering wheel volume control functionality of the unit as it's going into 2001 vehicle with the controls. Granted I didn't take it for a spin to see if there was any navigation lag as is the case with some of these CarPlay adapters so I'm unsure on that. It seems to be of fairly good quality and is snappy when moving through the screens so perhaps it has the processing capability so it won't be susceptible to that. It did amaze me at how small the back end of this was as I've been used to regular radios, but that's just commentary. I guess it could be a good thing to provide room for wiring up the factory radio and antenna adapters. I already wish I had the time to get this fully installed as I'm excited for the prospects. It will be wonderful to add CarPlay to a vehicle that's almost 23 years old! ... show more
