Came boxed well for being fragile, and definitely heavy when filled with water, so I say set it up where you want it before adding water. I wanted to get an aquarium for my betta to replace an older acrylic tank that was showing some scratches. This one seemed to fit the bill although the one main deterrent was that it didn't come with a lid (more on that later). It's a beautiful tank with a nice large front surface for viewing your fish. On the other hand, it's quite narrow, and so if you're ham-fisted like I am, getting things set up right in your tank can be difficult, and cleaning it when the time comes is going to be a chore. I like the fact that this isn't a kit. No crappy filter or light to deal with (I usually replace them anyway). I can use the simple sponge filter and aquarium light I already have for this set-up. Back to the lid... I've recently lost two "friends" because they wanted to venture outside their tanks and made a jump for it (this happened at night through the narrowest of openings). Bettas can jump! Therefore a lid is a must. So I ordered a couple of other things with my tank in order to make a lid for the tank. The plastic sheets are rigid, but can easily be cut, so you can "notch" the top where your hoses, wires, and light go. The plastic latches are perfect for attaching the lid to the aquarium. The tank looks really good. The glass is thin and very clear. It comes with extra accessories. I paid $20 less by ordering a previously returned aquarium and had no issues.

I got the 10 gal tank, despite the bad reviews, you don’t really need the instructions, just leave the white film that is added at the bottom and I’ll be fine because it prevents it from breaking , of course filter, heater and light are not included and I loved that it included the feeding ring, a vacuum and tweezers it’s just so pretty my fish loved it! ... show more
