This safe is perfect for what we need it. It fit two big binders and the shelves inside are removable/can be brought up to down. Setting up the code was easy and pretty straight forward. It comes with keys just in case the electronic lock fans out of batteries. Would recommend

There are many different sizes of safes. I did not need a very big safe so I purchased this one. It is well made, and it has a key that also can be used instead of putting in a code. This is a decent safe but keep in mind it is fairly thin and light, It weights no more than 40 pounds. The door is also the heaviest component so it can easily top over when the door is opened if you do not have it anchored to the wall or floor

This safe is neither fireproof nor waterproof. It is just a big steel box with holes in the back and no real seal on the door. The description is completely bogus. If you want water proof or fireproof do NOT buy this product.

    • What I needed
This is a very heavy, very sturdy safe. It works exactly as described and seems and feels very secure. To unlock the safe you need to use the master key and the secondary key. After you open up the safe you install your batteries, reset the admin and user passcodes, set a new one for each, and after that you will use the master key and the passcode to access the safe. The secondary key will only be used again if your batteries happen to die. I had no problem with the internal shelving, internal lining, or trim. Everything for mine was perfect. The safe is advertised as fireproof for 1 hour at 1700°. I have no way to test this, however after watching videos on similar safes I do believe this would be fire resistant for an hour. As others have noted, there are 2 bolt holes in the back. I don't see how this is waterproof. I believe it is water resistant, but not waterproof. You certainly could not submerge this and expect it to keep water out of the metal exterior. That being said, the internal leather that they use to line the unit does go all the way around the interior and could potentially stop water from coming in for a while. I'm not going to test that. I would say that the unit is water resistant, and potentially waterproof for a very very short time. But ultimately water will get in because of the wall mounting holes. The walls of the unit are very thick and it would take quite a bit of work to get into it. Certainly, with valuables inside the safe it would take two or three people to move it. It is a good size, and fits well in multiple locations in a home. At this price, and with the level of security I feel like I get with it, I do recommend this safe. ... show more
