This may be an odd use case, but I'm using these for my goldendoodle. I go through scissors pretty quickly, as she has a thick, curly coat, and it will dull sheers after a handful of grooming sessions. Some people choose to go high-end and re-sharpen their scissors. Some people might go low end, and just replace them more often. I like to go somewhere in the middle - if I can get several grooming sessions out of a pair of scissors, it's still a good value to me. This set is very nice. It doesn't have the 'safety' nubs at the end like some pet sheers have but it is also not sharp, and I haven't had any issues keeping our dog safe. It cuts very well through her thick cut - no chomping away multiple times - one cut works fine. I use these for a few things - one, cutting off easy to get to mats before using the electric clipper (not mats that are up against her skin, but once that are hanging of her body and easy to cut off without risk of injury). Also, I use this for areas that don't do well with the electric clippers, like legs, stomach, and around the head. I'm not a fan of thinning shears, probably I don't know how to use them correctly. Anyway, these are doing a great job. Finished my second groom with them and they are still nicely sharp. It comes with a nice case, a comb, and some other accessories as well. I think this would be a great human-grooming kit as well :>. Recommended.

The scissors have forged blades and integral handles, which indicate quality. The pair I received had a few burrs in the sharpening job, but once cleaned up work smoothly. I really appreciate the tension adjustment to dial in buttery precision. For my man fingers, the holes are a bit small, especially the thumb. If you have small fingers, they’ve included little plastic inserts. I’ve never used texturing shears before, and never got the hang of these. The included straight razor is of low quality and cheapens the image. In summary, these are made like quality scissors, and seem to work well. Much better than the pair that came with my electric clippers!
