After several years of use, the front drive wheels on my mower had literally worn off the tread and finally, on one side, the entire remaining tread simply fell off. My normal reaction would have been to take it to the shop for repair, but I found these on line. Installation is not at all complicated and these have worked fine since then. Just wish the originals had been made with a more durable material.

I got these for my TB240 Troy Bilt front wheel drive self propelled mower. Purportedly, they were compatible with my mower. However, when I went to install the new wheels, I discovered that the bushing width on these was a bit narrower than the original wheels. I found this out when I put the first wheel on and tightened the nut up. I could slide the wheel side to side about 3/8 of an inch. Instead of shipping them back and going through the headache that that entails I decided to cut a spacer that would take up the slack. The wheels look nice enough but that was kind of a bummer that they just didn’t swap right out without a glitch. Even so, I do like the quality of the wheel. And I plan on mowing tomorrow to see how they do. Hopefully the spacer I cut will hold up. In one of the pictures you can see the old wheel and the area around the bushing that shows the raised face (the star shaped area) that’s molded into the original wheel. This surface area is what’s missing on these wheels. And that’s the amount of difference in the width of these wheels and my original wheels and that’s why I had to cut a spacer to fill the void between the wheel bushing and the nut. You can’t go too thick with the bushing or when you tighten the nut it will put pressure on the wheel and act like a break, and it won’t spin freely like it should. Good luck!

Bought these to replace the ones on my mower that is about 7 years old. The front wheels were completely bald! These were shipped quickly and are an exact fit for my Toro mower. Installation was easy, just had to remove the wheel hub cap with a screwdriver and then take the nut off the wheel. New wheels don't have wheel covers to accidently come off while mowing and look good too! They just drop right on the front axle (I recommend you lubricate them as mine were rusty as can be!), jiggle them to get them wheel to align with the drive sprocket on the mower and reinstall the nut to secure the new wheel! Just used the mower with the new wheels and it is a world of difference. Mower pulls much better now (self propelled model mowerTB240) even with a full load of grass in the rear bag! I thought that these would be a lot more expensive than they were, great deal, look like they will wear well, and easy to install! Thank you!
