I ordered this for emergency preparedness. The tank arrived and the inside was very clean. The plastic feels very substantial. Not flimsy at all. All seams and the spigot look solid and high quality. The inside of the tank had a chemical smell when I first opened it. I reached out and the company responded quickly and confirmed their materials are FDA food-grade. They recommended airing it out for a few days which helped a lot. For the price, this delivers what it promises: a food-safe 55-gallon storage tank that's ready to use. Build quality is solid. I'd buy it again, in fact I plan to since they can stack. I hope to have 2 - 3 of these ready to go. ... show more

Seems sturdy. I like the facet at the bottom. Like the compactness and the ability to stack - which at 400lbs + for filled contain is amazing. I haven't tested that aspect however. As others have mentioned when it was new it had a plastic chem smell, but I followed the directions on their website and I am comfortable with the results. Note that the plastic is slightly translucent so shade it if you put it outside, as their website recommends. Personally, I was more comfortable putting it in a darkened garage. ... show more

I have not had a second to even fill 'er up yet, gotta clear off some stuff from our covered patio. But husband and I very impressed with the build quality. This was a lil expensive for us but the peace of mind it brings ...with a severe drought/supply chain interruptions/global instability, political uncertainty and potential civil unrest, with Lake Powell and Lake Mead thisclose to dead pool, a "Godzilla El Niño" looming imminently and purportedly to bring even higher than our already increased temperatures in AZ, that will further tax an electric grid that's already teetering on the precipice of doom, as well as AI data centers springing up and getting priority over The People... It's priceless. It's only 10 days of water for our family, tho. Hope to get more soon. If I have anything to add after setting it up and filling it up, I'll revise/edit this review. First of all, it's exactly as advertised, the construction is great, the Spigot is made of good material, brass I would assume, in my opinion it's a good value for the money, it seals well and is durable as all get out. I'm getting ready to order two more, they stacked perfectly, and I built myself a strong wheeled platform to hold the weight of two of them stacked together. I used a few drops of anti-bacterial dish soap and a teaspoon of Clorox bleach with warm water to wash out the inside, just enough water to swish around, I rinsed with warm then cool water, that improved the new plastc smell by 99%. My main attraction to this product was stackability and they are BPA Free! Thanks, best regards L.A.F. ... show more

Defective item. Size was great. Idea of stackability is great. Was excited to have water storage until opened package and I noticed the threading where the lid screws on is deteriorating.

I like the design of these barrels and have bought 2 (may buy more). However they are kinda stinky with plastic smell. I have decided to use an RV water filter that takes smell and taste of plastic out of the water when I need to use it, but would be nice not to have to deal with at all. I have them airing now, but they don’t seem to be getting rid fo the smell by sitting with the lids open. I may have to do more active stuff to reduce the smell and plastic content as much as possible. ... show more

Great design, size, and serve the purpose, but make sure you wash it very well, as you will expect with all the advertised certifications to be clean inside, and after you drop the products to clean the tap water and fill the 55 gallons, you might find this thing floating that will make you do the process all over again, plus you will have to buy another cleaning product to store the water. Not nice at all deliver to your clients dirty inside. 3 stars because it is a good product, but be careful next time before shipping it to your customers! ... show more
