**Huge Labor Saver for Short Fiber Runs** I've used 8 of these so far on fiber installations, and overall I've been very happy with them. These have saved a considerable amount of labor and termination materials compared to pulling bulk fiber and terminating both ends in the field. For short runs, these are hard to beat. Being pre-terminated means I can get the fiber pulled, dressed, and connected without spending the extra time on field terminations, connectors, splice trays, pigtails, etc. When you're doing multiple short inter-building or IDF runs, the labor savings add up quickly. I have had one out of the eight I've installed so far that had bad fibers. Specifically, 2 of the 6 strands were bad. That's obviously not something I was thrilled about, and I would absolutely recommend testing every strand before you get too far into the installation. Finding a bad fiber after everything is pulled and dressed is a lot more frustrating than finding it while the cable is still sitting on the bench. The biggest thing to understand with these is that you need to plan your pathway around the pre-terminated connectors. Make sure your conduit, wall penetrations, sleeves, and other pathways are large enough to accommodate the connector ends. If you're trying to force a large connector assembly through a hole that was sized for bare fiber, you're going to defeat the whole purpose of using a pre-terminated assembly. As long as you have an adequate pathway, these are a huge time saver. For short fiber runs where I don't want to spend the time and money doing field terminations, I would absolutely use these again. I've installed 8 so far, had one with bad fibers, and I still consider them a great investment because of how much labor they eliminate. ... show more

This is an updated review after rewinding for return. Failed after one month. 5/6 strands broken. While winding for return I found where a rodent was able to bite the cable nearly in half. The armor isn't coiled tightly enough, a mouse can get it's teeth between the armor helices and sever the strands. This may also be made with that modern plastic cable insulation animals like to chew, the rubber SOOW cable I had run in parallel for power was undamaged. Installed in a business office across a drop ceiling span from IDF closet to tenant space. One of the cores seems to be a little flaky and we can't get a constant signal across it. No big deal as we really only needed a single pair at this time so the rest are available as spares or for future expansion, but it looks like instead of a 3 pair we functionally have a 2 pair. It's not worth tearing out and replacing at this point, especially since that would cause an interruption for the tenant. ... show more
