This is not a wimpy little scratching post. This post is probably designed with large cats in mind (my cats are small, ironically), and it's definitely not going to tip over. The diameter of the post is larger than most scratching posts out there making this feel really heavy-duty, and yes, it does weigh a bit more than the average post. The only potential downside I see to this larger post is when it's shredded and you need a replacement part. It's easy to find already wrapped standard scratching post replacements, but this is a unique size, so I'm not sure if there's anything out there. If you've got a lot of time on your hands, you can replace the sisal yourself, but I've always found that to be more trouble than it's worth. No matter the size of your cat or whether there will be replacement parts for this post or not, it's a GREAT scratching post. It would be virtually indestructible if it was anything but something your cats are going to eventually destroy, lol. Regardless, it's well worth it and it's going to take any cat a long time to destroy this one.

PAWSCRAT Cat Scratching Post is so purrfect! 32 inches tall and with a circumference of 17 inches, this scratching post is big enough for my big boys! The base is big enough to keep it from tipping over. Jack and Mr Sparks both weigh about 16 pounds each. Most scratching posts cannot stand up to their weight and aggressive play style. In fact, more than once they have pulled flimsier posts down on their own heads! This post is so stable that Jack actually climbed up and hung on the top half today! Sorry, I did not get a pic. The cats are on to me and immediately leave the room when I aim my phone at them! This post was really simple to assemble. Literally 10 minutes! Very low odor right out of the box. No odor after airing for a couple of days. Our smallest cat, Dot, also loves this scratching post, inventing new ways to use it because of its size. Again, no pics . . . cats! If you can only have one scratching post for your felines, this is the one!

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this PAWSCRAT Cat Scratching Post to give my 6 house cats something to scratch other than my furniture and they really seem to enjoy scratching and climbing it. The post stands 2 inches shy of 3 foot tall, and the circumference of the post is a little over 17 inches making this the biggest cat scratch post we own. The cat scratch post was easy to put together and for its size the post is rather sturdy and is not top heavy and wobble around when being used by my cats. This is perfect for cats who like to climb things as it is tall enough for that and the top of the post is wide enough for a full-grown cat to sit on it. The scratching rope is rather thin, and I do not know just how long it will last with constant use by 6 cats, but I do not mind rewrapping it with thicker rope later on as I have had to do with every other post we own.

We have been through a ton of cat scratching posts, but this one is the best one we've ever received. The base is much wider than the average scratching post, and it is nice and high too. The wide cylinder makes it so that there is enough room at the top of it for a cat to sit on top. The cats quickly destroyed the little fluff ball toy at the top within a few minutes, but they love scratching this thing and then climbing up to sit on top of it. We had to reinforce the base by sliding it under the edge of a heavier cat tree so that they don't knock it down, but now it is nice and secure. It is quickly becoming one of our cat's favorite places to sit. Definitely a great deal at the current price, I highly recommend this scratching post!

I have a couple scratching posts in different areas of my home and one was showing its age. Picked this up and replaced the old one and my 2 cats were quite pleased. It's a foot taller than the one I replaced so they can really stretch while they scratch. Anyways, it was easy to assemble and should last a few years with the way they use it and the other one, which is also 32" tall. Decent quality sisal rope with no odor, large enough base to keep it stable. I'm sure they'll eventually tear the ball off, but for now they're enjoying playing with it.

This is a great product if you wanna make sure that your cat has a place to sharpen their claws without destroying your furniture. Add a little catnip if you want to be sure that you’re in business business but it works great.

This is a nice cat post it's tall and sturdy but top heavy I had to put weights on the bottom to hold it down or my cat wouldnt use. It was easy to assemble. My kitten and cat now have a post to scratch instead of my sofa.

We have a couple of the towers. The cats come over every once in a while and use it. It's very simple to put together. It's a good height. The cats don't seem to want to jump on the top. It's probably too small for them. Good product though.
