I needed the 24 mm socket for changing the filter in my Chevy Trax. The low profile was nice, as I wasn't fighting to try to fit the ratchet on the socket. For oil filters, these sockets will do the job. I wouldn't use them for any heavy duty work, as that is not what they are intended for.

quality socket set, low profile, no issues, happy to have the set. Large socket sizes, would like a full set of these from 8mm up to 22mm to go along with this set. nice case. great value, would not sleep on this set if you are looking for them.

As you can see in the pictures, these are some nice quality sockets for the wheel bearing nuts, lug nuts, etc. Low profile gives me more leverage.

    • Easier to use than a standard socket
I previously used a standard 27" socket on a larger 1/2" drive on a 2012 Mini Cooper S to remove the oil filter cartridge which did the job, but this new shallow socket that works on a smaller 3/8" drive is easier to use and manipulate in the tight space underneath the coolant reservoir tank. The top of the OEM oil filter housing is made of cheap plastic so the smaller drive with both less leverage and torque is a non-issue in this scenario since you do not want to over-torque this fragile cover when you reinstall it. Previous to this, I used the 24" shallow socket in this set to remove my aftermarket magnetic oil drain plug. Since this is more convenient and easier to use than how I did it before, I will be using this when I do my next oil change service. ... show more
