I have a number of fountain pens that take either cartridges or converters, and I have never liked having to submerse the entire nib (and part of the barrel) in order to fill the pen with ink. Not only is it a bit messy, but I use mostly Noodler's Ink (tall skinny bottle), so it gets trickier and fussier to submerge to the right depth as you use more ink from the bottle. Enter these syringes. It's much easier to submerge just the needle into the bottle and draw what you need, then precisely fill the converter, avoiding all of the mess. With my cheaper pens (Hongdian) that does lead to a dry nib start (I either have to dip the nib into the bottle or force a bit of ink from the converter into the nib to get things flowing). However, with my nicer pens (Pilot), I fill the converter with ink, attach to the nib, and the pen works immediately. Clean-up is a snap with a small glass of water: either the syringe in between fills, or the converter/nib when you're changing ink colors. I first bought syringes with longer needles (to reach to the bottom of the jar when needed), but then switched to these ~1" needles as the better overall alternative. Five came in the package, so I don't imagine I'll ever run out. I wish I had discovered these sooner, but I definitely won't be going back!

They work great to fill a converter or refill a fountain pen ink cartridge. The measurements are handy so you won't accidentally overfill. It's easy to clean & disassemble.

Fills my converter fountain pens perfect. Now I get a complete fill without the mess/ink waste. The syringes clean up easy. There are enough for me to fill my different pens with specfic different ink in one sitting. Recommend these syringes.

Easy to use, and use over again BUT if you're filling using shimmer ink, make sure to rinse the ink out of the syringe and needle asap, or else it will clog and it won't come clean. I lost a needle that way.

I have tried several blunt needle syringes for filling my fountain pen converters when the ink bottle just will not allow me to dip the entire nib and pen in (beautiful as it is - but totally useless for filling from that tiny bottle opening.) You know the bottles...gorgeous shapes and amazing printed designs...but horrible for refilling your converters. Even though I have other brands/varieties of these syringes, I find myself now only reaching for this particular one, as it is so much easier to "ease" the ink from the syringe into the tiny converter and to not accidentally overfill it by pushing the plunger in too hard. This brand/style of blunt needle syringe allows you to easily and smoothly and gently completely fill that tiny space - and with just one hand, cause you're balancing the converter with your other free hand. It's an art to be able to do this and not have ink leak all over your free hand! I will definitely buy more of this particular syringe.

Blunt-tipped, work great, as described. Essential tool for refilling ink cartridges from ink bottles made of any fountain pen brand in any color. Each cartridge can then be re-used 5-10 times before it wears out and is discarded. Choose from a much wider variety of ink colors and types using blunt tipped syringes to re-fill cartridges! Bottled ink is also much more affordable than always buying new ink cartidges for one-time use. Blunt-tipped syringes are also helpful in loading an eyedropper converter pen with ink. These syringes are re-useable many times each within the arena of the fountain pen hobby. They’re marked one time use because other than the tips being blunted for use with fountain pens, they’re otherwise the same item as what’s used in health care settings for injections which is most definitely a one-time-use setting. A useful and handy tool!
