This mattress topper has been a decent upgrade for our queen bed. It does add a layer of comfort but not so much cooling for me, but I do run warm at night. We've been dealing with 90° and even 100° heat index days here in Michigan, so the cooling feature would have been great. While no mattress topper can completely eliminate the effects of a hot room, this one barely feels cool to the touch when in an air conditioned room like other items of similar make. The little bit of coolness dissipates within a short amount of time for me. The extra 5 inches of cushioning made a noticeable difference. It added a plush, supportive layer that makes the bed feel much more comfortable without sacrificing support. It fit our queen mattress pretty well (it could have used another 2 inches width wise), and it stayed in place well after installation. Setup was simple, and once it had fully expanded, it was ready to use. The bamboo viscose cover has a soft feel, and the overall quality was ok at best.

I’ve had my mattress for about a decade now, and while it’s definitely time for an upgrade, I’m trying to hold out until I can afford the mattress I really want. In the meantime, I’ve been dealing with some hip pain when I sleep. I’m pretty petite and don’t have much cushioning between my bones and the mattress, so when I saw the opportunity to try this memory foam mattress topper, I was excited to see if it could help. When it arrived, I couldn’t believe how compressed it was in the packaging. As soon as I cut open the plastic, it started expanding immediately. There was a slight memory foam smell at first, but that’s pretty common and nothing unexpected. The bamboo cover felt soft and breathable right out of the package, and I liked that it included elastic straps to help keep the topper in place. One thing I highly recommend is giving it plenty of time to fully expand. I let mine sit out for about 3–4 days before using it, and there was a noticeable difference between the 24-hour mark and the 72-hour mark. The topper became much fuller and loftier over those extra days. As for comfort, this topper is incredibly comfortable to sleep on. It added a substantial amount of cushioning to my bed and honestly made my aging mattress feel like it had new life again. I also noticed a significant improvement in the hip pain I usually experience when sleeping on my side, which alone made this topper worth it for me. The bamboo cover stayed breathable throughout the night. I wouldn’t necessarily call it cooling, but it also didn’t trap heat or make me feel warmer. It stayed temperature-neutral, which I appreciate as someone who doesn’t like sleeping hot. My only real issue was with the elastic corner straps. No matter how I positioned the topper, I couldn’t get them to stay secured on my mattress. Thankfully, I use deep fitted sheets, and once everything was made up, the topper stayed in place just fine without shifting around. For comparison, I also own a 3-inch topper from this same brand that secures more like a fitted sheet, and I prefer that design. That topper also felt a bit smoother after expanding. This one had a slightly clumpier feel when touching it with your hands, but once you lay down on it, you can’t tell at all. Overall, I’m really impressed with this mattress topper. Aside from the elastic straps not working well for me, I have very few complaints. It dramatically improved the comfort of my bed, helped reduce my hip pain, and feels like a great value for the price. If you’re looking to extend the life of an older mattress or add some extra cushioning, I’d definitely recommend giving this topper a try.

The 5 Inch Bamboo Mattress Topper Queen Size, Cooling Mattress Pad Cover,60x80” is so comfortable. I put this on a guest bed but i sleep tested it myself. The last guest we had mentioned the mattress was a little firm for their liking so this was a nice way to add some softness to that bed. It is a bit on the heavy side so I am not planning to take it off and on, but instead I will leave it on. It feels like it is constructed well and it fits my queen size bed perfectly. I slept well on it with the padding giving me a cloud like support. I think this is a good value so I would recommend it.
