    • Great for holding leather
I am a leatherworker and I use my XTool engraver a fair amount, sometimes I need to hold down thinner leathers that want to curl up and these work perfectly! I have some hold downs that came with the honeycomb bed, but they aren't that great, they are a different style. I like these a lot better for being able to easily push in tight to hold the curling leather flat. None have broken so far, I haven't had any issues with them at all. Sometimes they are a little difficult to get out, but I use one of the paint can lid openers to get under it enough to grab on to. I don't know when I will ever go through 50 of them, or use them all at once, but it's nice to have plenty on hand just in case. Worth it for me, I think these would work great on just about any material you needed to laser cut or engrave. ... show more

I have a xtool laser bed and I was looking for a good set of pins to hold down my work pieces for the honeycomb bed. These work great for the xtool laser bed. It takes a bit of effort to pull the pins out of the board so I give it 4 stars. PS: I also have a Nivill laser bed, the 37"x19" used with the xtool extension rails and these pins are not compatible with that laser bed. This product is not to blame for it. Hard to write too much on a review about these. I have a laser engraver and a great honeycomb base I engrave on. When I do numerous small items, I like to have several held down and use these to do that. Nothing special, but they work well. Overall, nice pins. I hope this review was helpful!

    • A simple way to align and secure media

I've been trying to produce small runs of several projects as gifts. One of the frustrations has been trying to place media in the same location consistently so that all of the results are the same. I've tried the magnets that were supplied with my honeycomb bed but they are too easily moved by accident, These pins are attach to the bed so positively that there is no chance of misalignment. They work well with media of various thicknesses and can be used on just a few sides to provide quick alignment or on all sides when there is the chance of the media moving during the burn process. There are 50 pins in the pack which is enough to secure several items at once if you're burning multiples at a time. Other than possibly losing a few or stepping on a dropped pin, I don't see these ever wearing out so I've shared a few with friends. ... show more

    • They work well for normal 3mm or 6mm wood
These hold downs work well for the standard 3mm or 6mm wood and acrylics but if you use something thicker they don't hold as well. I have had no problems using them with the standard fare but when I tried with a cutting board that was a lot thicker they wobbled around a bit. I didn't really need them on the cutting board anyway as it is heavy enough to stay still but just wanted to let everyone know they do have limitations. ... show more

The original listing was for some very cheap plastic plugs to use with a honeycomb laser bed. I see now the listing is for a very expensive laser engraver. I am only reviewing the plugs. They worked well in my honeycomb bed.

    • Work smooth
These 50pcs honeycomb needles made my crafting sessions a lot more enjoyable. The first thing that struck me was how easy they were to install. You know, sometimes you get accessories, and they require a Ph.D. in engineering to figure out, but not these pins. The quality doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. There's this smoothness to them when they're in action - it's like they glide effortlessly, making the whole engraving process feel seamless. I won't say they're perfect. Occasionally, they were a bit more versatile for different material thicknesses. But that's a minor quibble in the grand scheme of things. Overall, they're reliable and easy to work with, and they've improved the precision of my engravings. ... show more

    • Works with 2 out of 3 of my honeycombs
I use three different size honeycombs for three different machines and these fit in 2 of 3 of the honeycombs. I will definitely use them when I need to hold stuff down when using those two machines. The part that pushes down into the honeycomb is just over 11mm in diameter and they are 23mm in overall length. In years past I have also done a fair bit of work on cars, so recognized these immediately upon receipt. I think these are called bumper retainer clips. If you like the way these work but the size isn't small enough or large enough for your particular honeycomb, you can find multiple size options if you look for "bumper retainer clips" here on Amazon. ... show more
