  • Decent BOB
Size: Medium Color: Kangaroo
I packed this as a BOB, basically enough things to survive for 3+ days almost anywhere provided I was already wearing some rudimentary outer garments. It's currently at 19 pounds but I plan on adding a few more items. I carried it on a three mile hike over rolling terrain and it carried the weight well, even without a waist cummerbund. If it were packed too heavy, it might pull on your shoulders too much so you might want to upgrade to the 55 L, which I also own. The numerous compartments and pockets are nice, but are almost too much. They could probably only include half as many and it would still be perfect for my chosen application. The bag fills up quickly, extra socks, thermals, pants, beanie and shirt in the middle, largest compartment commanded all of the available volume. The side pockets are ideal for water bottles (not sure if they'll fit 500 mL Nalgene but carried a Berkey Sport nicely. I think a Nalgene would fit.) Plenty of molle loops to attach gear to the outside, but I would caution against overdoing it on the weight of the pack given it only has shoulder straps with a chest band. The nylon and zippers seem pretty robust, but I haven't ye tested them under field conditions for any type of duration. I like 5-11 Tactile pants (though they'll get holes under extreme conditions like crawling under barbed wire or over thick brush) and if this holds up similarly, I think it will do the job. It is a good price point between the 24 L at $100 and 55 L at $175. I checked out the 24 L but t was much too small. The 55 L was more than I needed for this application. Overall, I think it will do what it was purchased to do. ... show more

  • Quality is costly. UPDATED
Size: Medium Color: Black
After ordering this backpack but before it had arrived, I had a couple days of wondering “Did I really NEED to spend this much on a new bag? Surely my $40 generic bag was fine?” As soon as it arrived that feeling was dispelled. The construction immediately demonstrates sturdiness despite being lightweight. The array of storage and attachment options are very satisfying and functional. The weight distribution is excellent and the straps are comfortable. I believe in paying more for quality that lasts, and to that end I believe this was a wise purchase. Note that it manages to fit a 15.6 inch laptop with about .5-1” of room to spare lengthwise. A 17” laptop is almost 1.5” longer and probably won’t fit. UPDATE: I've now had this bag for over a year of daily use. As I believed, its construction and materials are solid. It shows no signs of degradation, not so much as a worn stitch. The number of compartments and internal partitions have held up to an evolving variety of needs. I enjoy the fact that if I need to carry something, it always has somewhere size and shape-appropriate to put it. My endorsement is as strong as they come: this is truly a 5/5 item. • What a greqt bag!
Size: Medium Color: Kangaroo
So I have had this bag for 6 months now and had to send in a review. I am surprised at how good this bag is and how much I use it. I have not been gentle with this bag and after 6 months of use it still looks brand new. It is not just roomy, but due to the molle components it is highly modifiable & easy to convert from one use to another. For example with the large main compartment I can use this as an everyday bag or insert my camera cube and turn it into a camera bag! I also have a number of smaller molle packs that I can add/remove that allow real customization for specific uses. Lastly the material is extremely durable and while I have not had the bag out is pouring rain I have used it in fairly consistent rain and I can say that it is definitely weather & dust resistant. To sum this up all I can say is buy this bag! ... show more

  • I now have the entire series for different things. Can't recommend it enough.
Size: Medium Color: Kangaroo
TLDR just buy the size you need and then start expanding the 24(37L) is more than a day pack but I've repurposed mine a few times. Plus they attach to each other. So I started with the Rush 12 for a new work bag. I work 12 hour shifts with a lot of classroom training too so I needed something I can carry over a mile into the office from the parking lot that can carry 3 full meals and some extras such as documents/laptop, the Rush 12 is perfect for me as a daily work bag. I went on a work trip and needed a few days of clothes but not an entire duffel bag(as I learned after the fact), while also taking my day to day things. When I found out that the Rush bags are modular I ordered the Rush 24 while on travel. I'm able to put 3 days worth of things in the 24 and attach my 12 to the 24 making the trip a lot easier because I can carry both bags on my back. This worked out well for hiking and vacation travel. I can use the 24 or 72 for myself and family things, and a MOAB 8/10 as a day bag while my significant other uses the 12 for her packing and the MOAB 6 for day to day things. Get the 4 pack of additional Rush straps, I attached the female part to the bottom of each backpack(not the 72) and the male straps to the MOAB's front. This way each backpack has 4 male and female attachment points (buckle on the bigger bag and fork on the smaller) I since modified my use several times over after expanding to the MOAB series and now have a "fleet" of bags that are all modular. Each backpack has a water bottle holder on one side with a hook and loop IFAK kit on the other side (links below). Each IFAK bag is a bit different, first aid kit for camping/hikes, a diaper change kit, and a toiletry kit. I can attach any IFAK to the side of any bag depending on what we are doing. Day to day uses for me The Rush 72 is massive and perfect for longer trips with the family or if I'm out with the boys. The Rush 24 is now my "DAD BAG" with funny morale patches and a diaper kit on the side. The Rush 12 is a daily work bag MOAB's are used for hikes and other day to day needs. Attachments that I have found to be functional. Rhino Rescue IFAK (home or the tactical pre loaded ones are great, even if you don't know how to use medical equipment in case of an emergency someone else may have the knowledge without the equipment) HLXFF3 Tactical first aid pouch (empty IFAK pouch I use it as a diaper change kit, holds all the things needed for multiple diaper changes and can be ripped off the side for quick access) Generic molle water bottle pouch (I have a fyelo and a Wicktick and they are practically identical) ... show more
