Ok so this is a very mixed review. I loved the safe to begin with very durable very easy to set up. But unfortunately the safe had been broken into eventually leading to over 4 grand to be stolen. So like I said from the being. A very mixed review. If you know your environment is safe and simply need to keep kids out of the safe it will 100% work for that, as for adults...I would not trust that this Safe will insure security!

This is for the 5.0 Cu ft Extra Large Heavy Duty Home Safe. - This is a piece of junk. There is no way it is watertight. The handle is very flimsy and it feels like it would break off very easily. There were no holes drilled in the bottom to secure it to the floor and only 2 on the back. It also did not include the battery backup to get into the safe if the internal batteries fail. Even with all of that, I might have still kept it if it would open with a code. But no dice. I followed all the directions on how to set my own codes but I could never get the door to open. (I could open it with the 2-key system) When I would input my code the screen would say "open" like the directions said it would, and you could hear the internal parts click, but the handle would not turn to open the locks.

We bought this safe for our 20 year old daughter that is just starting out in life so she has somewhere safe to put her valuables and important documents. It it very spacious. She really liked the hidden compartment. There is room for just about anything you would need to keep safe. Very nicely made

For the money this is a decent safe. If you are looking for a waterproof or fireproof safe this not a good match To use the keypad, leave the main key in the 3 o'clock position and the emergency key in the 12 o'clock position. Use new lithium batteries. and bolt the safe to the floor or wall. Hide the safe in a suitable location. to make it difficult to find. Keep in mind this is only $250 and don't expect to get a safe that is $500 or $600. Don't bother understanding the directions because they are very confusing. I like to keep it simple it and used the default setting.
