three of the lathe turning tools were ok but the curved one had a problem. the round carbide cutting insert does not fit flush onto its seating surface when installing with its mounting screw. i will have to remove a little more metal to allow more room for the cutter to seat properly when installing the mounting screw. ... show more

    • The tools are very durable and easy to use.
The only issue I had was with the star wrench for changing the carbide tips. The red plastic thumb tab broke the fist week. Just a minor inconvenience.

I Haven't used them yet. I'm a newbie to woodturning and I haven't had a chance to use them yet. They are on the short side (that's why they're called mini's) but will be great for smaller projects.They come complete with cutting tips and allen wrench to change those. They also appear to be able to accept any brand of cutting tip as long as the hole diameter is thesame. ... show more

These are great for the beginner! I love them. I have turned a number of items with them thus far. great for your smaller turns AS well great to learn techniques. I would suggest better hardwood for the handles.

    • They are nice small tools.
These are useful tools, if you have little clearance. It is helpful if you are used to using carbide tools. I only gave them 3 stars because the detailing tools cutter does not clear the end of the tool.
