  • Great Gift for preteens
Ordered this as a Christmas present for my 11 year old, as he loves science. It arrived on time and well packaged. He really enjoyed assembling this Robotic hand. The hardest part for him was tying the fishing line where it was supposed to be tied. I liked that it was somewhat anatomically correct and educated him on how the tendons work. Now for this to be educational on anatomy you would have to know the anatomy to explain to then as they assemble it. My son thought it was cool he has since been going around the house with his "Bionic Hand" (as he calls it) using it for everything. The name threw me off when i ordered. I expected some kind of electronics to it, which it did not have. It was reasonably priced. And would order again. ... show more

  • This is a gift for my 12 year old grandson
My Grandson loves projects like these. I reviewed before buying and I'm sure he will really enjoy this kit.

  • Just baaaarely enough line, get a ruler
If you cut ANY extra line, you'll have problems. There's just enough done with 50cm or slightly less. We cut a bit over and there was nowhere near enough. Make sure you've got a way to measure those 50cm! Printing a measurement on the box would have been extremely helpful at that point. I'd also recommend getting a bead or something small to tie the knots around to make it a lot easier to start the line through the holes without pulling it through. Tying a pair of knots in the exact same spot, so the string wouldn't slide through the opening, was a challenge for a 9 year old. Having a bead to tie the cord around would have made this much easier for kids. That being said? We did get it together and it works well, my kid is still playing with it a month later, and her cousins enjoyed it too. VERY MUCH worth buying, but remember the ruler and use beads if you have them, and it'll be a great gift/toy! ... show more

  • Interesting product but no excuse for such a quick video that I could not follow
I liked the concept but found the string hard to thread in the finger. The video was too fast and it does not explain what to do after you thread the first finger. Do you get a new thread or use the rest of it? What about the third finger.

  • Great learning toy
Purchased this as a gift for a grandson. It was selected because of its introduction to robotics. I'm told that he really likes it. I grew up with Erector sets, so I view this as a painless and fun way to learn STEM technology. It was reasonably priced, so if he likes it over time, I can feel comfortable with similar gifts in the future. I didn't mark the "Thickness" and "Warmth" stars because this is not a glove but a robotic hand. ... show more

  • Do not recommend purchasing
This thing was a dud. First of all, you have to figure out how to cut enough string to thread through the fingers. The string should already have been marked with where to cut it to make it easier to have the correct length of string. Next, I had issues pulling the string through each finger - my trouble really came when trying to get the thread to go through the middle finger. This is because the thread started shedding. Eventually I was able to figure out a way to get the string through the middle finger *but* it would not pull past the middle finger into the second (index) finger. The middle and fourth (ring) fingers would start clicking together whenever I tried to pull the string from the middle finger into the last finger (the index finger). Overall, buying this product was a waste of time and money. I will not be buying this product again and would recommend others to save their money and time as well. I will be looking for another robotic product to buy and work on. ... show more
