All tho this is an inexpensive camera hit has good quality. The only thing is if you would like to upgrade your mic they don’t all work with this camera. Also finding different lenses to help the quality are just not out there or not that I’ve found.

Issues list: 1. WiFi does not stay activated. The only option from the wifi password screen is to press OK to exit WiFi, which then turns off WiFi. There seems to be no way to keep Wi-Fi activated. If not pressing OK (center remote button) to exit the black Wi-Fi screen in a few moments, the camera freezes and has to be powered off. RoadCam app gives stability errors and freezes up. The camera's wifi turns off without being told to turn off, then obviously RoadCam keeps failing to find or control the camera. Once it is in control, it loses control when WiFi shuts off all by itself. 2. The camera does not take photos or record video while the HDMI display is attached. This problem will undoubtedly wear out all the tight connectors while constantly reattaching, etc. 3. Setting video quality to any other level freezes the camera, it has to be power cycled to gain control again. Then all the previous settings are forgotten. 4. While exposure EV is set to 0, the image intensity will not stop raising and lowering or flickering. This does not occur if EV is set to any other value. Yet 0 looks the best if the darned flickering would quit. 5. There seems to be no menu option to set this LKX 4K Camcorder 48MP into PC USB Streaming mode. I want to capture the stream for recording as an OBS Webcam. All my simple USB cameras are doing so just fine with OBS (free broadcasting platform). I am sure I will see other issues to review. 6. There seems to be no way to charge camera batteries aside from putting the battery in the camera and connecting the USB cable to the camera with included charger device. There should be a standalone charger cradle for allowing the batteries to recharge on the table top while removed from this camera. 7. If I don't touch the camera for around 10 minutes, by not interacting with its controls, etc. all the menu functions freeze and have to hold down Power for several seconds to powercycle to get back in control of the unit. 8. Incremending the zoom is too jumpy... not a way to smoothly zoom in or out 9. What I like about this camera: 1. Not heavy, easy to handle, well built castings 2. Strong quality stabilizer with a hex tool incl. 3. Easy to assemble lens hood 4. Nice microphone that is rechargeable 5. Good quality cables included 6. Large size batteries to last longer 7. Nice screen size 8. Nice carry bag, nice user guide, nice remote control, included replacement battery for remote 9. Poweron, startup and ready is fairly fast 10. Camera has separate ports for USB, Mic and HDMI --ports are far enough apart for cables to all fit in 11. Camera has easy to see power and charging indicators 12. Camera has a top side shoe for adding accessories 13. Comes with a nice hand strap to kerp from dropping camera 14. Not expensive. Perhaps 25 or 50 USD more money could work toward resolving some or all of the above concerns. ... show more

First let me say that at the price point you can't beat this camera. I've tested it in low light and bright light and the images look pretty good. I'm using it as a note taking camera for my musical compositions which is perfect for my needs. The remote makes using it super easy since I keep it set up in the same position so I can start and stop the camera without getting up to press the button on the back. The front facing viewfinder makes it very easy for v-logging as well. It's bright and clear. I will say that you'll get better pictures from the camera if you turn off the OIS (optical image stabilization) and lower the sensitivity on the camera (I have mine set to 400) and lower the sharpness. I know that sounds anti-intuitive, but sharpening can sometimes introduce unwanted artifacts (its the first thing I turn off on all my image capture devices and TVs). The stereo microphone is VERY good. I've used it to record some of my guitar ideas and on playback it sounds really good. The handle is also a really convenient feature to have. The only downside is that you can't put it on a tripod when the handle is on. The "quarter 20" on the bottom of the camera is exclusive to either the handle or a tripod. It would have been nice if the thumbscrew for the handle was threaded for "quarter 20" but once again...for $150 you can't hope for everything. The ONLY thing that's a little weird with the menus in the settings is that the check marks are the status of the condition. For instance, to record audio you have to have the check mark next to "Turn On" checked. When it's not checked it will say "Turn Off". See the pictures. At this price point it has a digital zoom and with a 4K capture, there's plenty of resolution to zoom in. Especially since most of the time the video will be posted WAY smaller than 4K to the internet. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was thinking about buying a dedicated decent quality video camera for online posting or streaming and saw this on Amazon. The price is at the low range of my budget so decided to give it a try. Order came in 2 days. After opening the box I am surprised by all the accessories that came with the camcorder. It is a standard alone microphone with db adjustment, aux cable, stabilizer handle, mini hdmi, 2 batteries, lense hood, remote control. It has everything thing I need except a SD card. I just happened to have a spare 32g card so it is ready after I inserted storage card. There is an app that you can download to connect camera via WiFi. It is called roadmap which can be used to control camera, download recorded videos and photo to phone or iPad. I used my iPad for and realized that this can even be used as surveillance camera. It worked surprisingly well. I updated a few photos and a video along with this review. Only 1 video is allowed to upload for each review. Unfortunately video is highly compressed so actual quality is much better than what you see here. Photos looks ok. This camera can record 4k 60fps but uses a ton of storage so I changed to 4k 30fps which is decent for online posting. I say the quality of video is similar to those take by mid range phones but a notch below flagship phone. This is expected given the price of this camera. Also it only has digital zoom with no stabilizing feature so it works better for fixed distance shooting. This is why it is best used for online streaming and video posting as a dedicated equipment without breaking bank account. I am happy this camera does more than I need for within low range of my budget. If you want a dedicated equipment for online video posting and streaming, or you have a kid who wants to start YouTube then this is the right piece for you. ... show more
