Consumer night vision tech has come a long way since my last purchase 20-something years ago. Images are crisp in near total darkness. And you can take pictures and videos - SD storage card is included in the box. Plus it's rechargeable. So why do I need recordable night vision goggles? I don't, really. But it's a cool gadget and it's pretty useful for spotting critters roaming my property at night. Tactical gear it is not. The LED display lights up your face. And it is certainly not waterproof. But I have been having fun with it.

The media could not be loaded. This is not the stealth type of night vision you see in the movies. It works quite well, but I find it hard to see when I look away from it. It’s bright (which helps) but it messes with your normal night vision. It’s fun for watching wild life
