This is my second copy of this frustrating device because of my mistake in not noticing that these cameras (which all look very similar in the ads) have slight variations in functions and first one I ordered did not have slow mo. NOW have the one with slow mo and HERE is the top problem: The LED screen image is severely posterized & not usable. Playback in computer is better but cannot use with flawed LED. Numerous other problems that I detailed in my review of the prior camera under Westwood Village Reviews. I am motivated to write again here to try and SAVE YOU from the frustrations I have endured. My two year old iPhone X cell phone camera is much easier to use AND PERFORMS better than this device except that it does not have infrared night vision. SO, what seems cheap really means I would be paying $140+ for the night vision alone. Operation is jerky. Controls are a nightmare of multiple use buttons that are confusing. Zoom function is useLESS DURING filming because zoom stops and starts like a jackhammer. Worst of all, the quality is no where near as good as my cell phone. Still, I am going to give this one or two more days of trials to ensure I'm being fair. If I discover otherwise I will update. In the meantime, BEWARE. It's not worth $140 of unnecessary frustration due to the flawed design and poor quality of this camera. ... show more

I think people wonder why anyone would buy a dedicated camera anymore since all phones have a camera built in, but my brother does not have a smart phone and loves to shoot video. Our options are basically put together $700+ for a nice name-brand camera or get one of the cheaper models that shoots very capable video for under $150. This thing is super small and portable, comes with a case and extra battery, and does a really good job of 1080p at 60fps (4k only shoots at 30fps). Bought this for my wife as a gift and she absolutely loves it! The camcorder is about 10 oz , light weighted but still feel quite sturdy. It is very convenient to pack in the backpack during our hiking trip. The touchscreen is very sensitive and useful, and the resolution of the screen is great. We bought a 128 GB SD card and with the 2 batteries provided in this package, we did not need to do any recharge in our 3-days trip with moderate usage. My son wanted an 800 dollar canon video camera to do uploads on YouTube and I thought that was insane so I told him we would try this camera first to see how committed he is to making content. This camera is very light and easy to pick up and use right out of the box. I am not a techie person when it comes to cameras but the picture is very crisp and the colors are vibrant!
