I had asked a question about the bottom piece, and everyone that answered had positive feedback for this scratching post. Thank you! . . The circle base and top both come with the wood pieces in half, but are held together with the fabric cover. Just in case, I used a couple drops of gel gorilla glue in between the halves. It was really easy to put together; took less than 10 minutes. It's very solidly built. And actually bigger than I expected. Lilly took to it right away. The black and red are very classy and Gothic looking, goes perfectly with the rest of her furniture. She's napping in it and looks quite comfy... She weighs a good 15 lbs. ... show more

I’m only giving 4 stars because the scratch pads only lasted a few months. If you have a cat that is a serious scratcher like mine, be aware that you’ll have to buy one of these once every few months. That said, my cat loves this cat tree. I live in an apartment so it fit perfectly without taking up much space at all. It’s also aesthetically pleasing. It was super easy to assemble and very sturdy. My cat is on the bigger side, about 13lbs, but he fit perfectly on the bed. If they can find a way to make the scratch posts last longer than a few months, then it’d be the perfect product! ... show more

I purchased this cat tree because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. When it arrived in the mail is a very tiny box, I was nervous (see photo). As I'd guessed the top and bottom were folded in half. There was no break in the carpet on top. You might think that would make the cat tree unstable. But as soon as the posts are added to connect the top and bottom panels, it's perfectly sturdy. Some cat trees are notorious for being difficult to assemble with a mind-numbing number of pieces and holes that never line up with screws. This tree was so easy to put together. Everything lined up on the first try. Still on the fence? I'm blind. It was really, really easy! I have a cat that weighs 11.4 lbs. This tree looks big enough for him. This tree was to replace one that was in bad shape. For the past few weeks, there was a small towel in the old cat tree that I've moved over to the perch on the new tree. That helps it smell more welcoming. Has my cat used it yet? Of course not, he's a cat. He's sitting precariously on the box it came in. I'm impressed with the quality of this cat tree. We have some older cat baskets in the house that the cats love. Large, wooden things wrapped in carpet and thick rope as a center scratch pole. They... do not seem to make rugged, sturdy baskets like that anymore from what I've seen. Wasn't sure if this one would be good enough for a room full of rambunctious, currently-trapped feral cats. But they seem to love it. They like the toys. It's sturdy enough not to get knocked over, even when they're jumping around on it. And it's soft and comfortable for naps. This is very sturdy and great I put it together in three minutes with the screws and they even give you a little wrench. I don’t think it’s a wrench. It’s something else like a L shape that fits into the screws and you turn it. The cover is nice and soft on the top and the scratching poles are great for the price. The media could not be loaded. Really like alot of things with this kitty tree. My 2 kitties use the scratching posts, play with the 3 dangling toys and more recently sip on top. Very easy to assemble. Not very tall but tall enough to be entertained. Doesnt feel cheap and reasonably priced. Recently my small dogs also hang out on the too bed, lol ... show more
