I wanted a bag that at the very least would have a rod pocket or two. I saw this one and decided to try it and have been pleased with it every time I've gone fishing. Not only does it have holders for three rods, but I also have enough room for three bait boxes, two smaller fly boxes, my camera bag, snacks, and drinks. I also can use the outside pockets for holding a tall can of sunscreen and other necessities. I love this bag and highly recommend it to anyone who likes to take enough tackle but keeps it all in a compact and easily accessible condition. The bottom front opens up to access my bait boxes without having to dig down from the top. All of the zippers when closed should be waterproof (I've not yet tested this...intentionally or not, LOL). I also have enough straps off the front to hang additional items. (Like my license). And I can keep my wallet and phone in a mesh zipper pouch on the top lid so easy access. I highly recommend this product.

I ordered this pack to consolidate and organize my small amount of fishing gear. While also having it ready to go and not have to worry about forgetting the universal basics for the types of fresh water fishing I occasionally do. What I like most is that there is plenty of room in each of the pockets and compartments, and the camo color looks good. What I wished was included with tis pack is couple of plastic organizer boxes for tackle that stack and fit into a specific zippered compartment, I can probably find my own and do something like that. For the price one might expect that or maybe as an add on option. The shoulder straps seem a little under sized and not made for any long distance packing with a heavier load. The stitching and zippers appear to be decent quality.

Let me start by saying that I can see how this would be good for fishing, however I used it as a range bag. It holds way more than expected, I was able to carry everything in this backpack; 3 firearms in hard cases, 8 magazines, extra ammo, targets, tools, cleaning equipment, hearing and eye protection. If I was going to an outside range, there was still room for lunch and water bottle. As far as fishing goes. I can see how well this would work, there is plenty of room for all your equipment and even for your rods to be strapped to the side of the pack. I see a couple of issues that would make this perfect. 1. It doesn't come with the 3600/3700 tackle boxes. 2. The separator between the upper and lower section is only held with Velcro. Overall, this is a durable well designed backpack with a lot of storage.
