My wife got this third-party hair curler thing for her fancy Dyson hair dryer thing. It’s a much cheaper alternative to the Dyson-branded AirWrap “long barrel” hair curler, and it looks pretty similar to that product (at least going off the pictures of the official one—I don’t actually have one on hand for comparison). This unit—with its 1.6-inch barrel diameter—is for longer hair. There’s an official Dyson 1.2-inch version for shorter hair, but I don’t think Sygbttq makes one. They DO make a cheaper version of the official conical curler attachment, though. The core difference between the curler sizes is how close they can get your curls to your roots. This one’s larger diameter can’t start curls all that close to the scalp, which is why it’s more suitable for longer hair. My wife’s hair goes down to her shoulders or thereabouts, and the results seem nice enough. She likes it, and she’s her own worst critic. As far as materials and construction, this thing is basically just a hollow tube with internal bi-directional vents that force air out in one direction or the other. The device produces something called the “Coanda effect,” and that presumably facilitates a luxurious hair-curling experience. But you already know how this thing works—I’m basically just walking myself through it all, at this point. Anyway, the curler attachment is very lightweight, and the materials seem pretty high quality. This thing is plastic whereas the official Dyson one is apparently made out of some kind of iron/copper alloy. Nevertheless, this attachment doesn’t feel cheap. The plastic almost has a ceramic or carbon fiber texture to it, and it’s certainly heat-resistant enough to withstand whatever temperatures the Dyson produces. If you follow the instructions, this hair curler works as advertised, all for about half of what the official version costs. NOTES: ✏️ The product listing indicates that this curler is only compatible with Dyson AirWrap HS01, HS05, and HS08 models. However, if you have a newer Dyson AirWrap i.d. model, you can use this, too. All AirWrap accessories work with pretty much all AirWrap models (as of Q3 2025). That info comes directly from Dyson’s website, so you don’t have to just take my word for it. ✏️ If it wasn’t already obvious, I myself can’t tell the difference between one hair curler and another, or even one hair dryer and another. I haven’t had hair in years. This review—in terms of any performance claims—is 100% on my wife’s word. I trust that she knows what she’s talking about. PROS 👍 Good quality plastic construction 👍 Looks and works like OEM 👍 Lightweight 👍 Easy to use 👍 No bad “hot plastic” smell 👍 Great value for money; basically half the price of OEM CONS 👎 None VERDICT 🙂 I would buy this again.

I was excited to find the longer version of the OEM bidirectional barrel. The OEM version I have is much shorter. This one fit just like the OEM. It's twice as long and the largest curl size. That means the air flow is slightly less (just because of the larger volume) but I didn't find the performance any less useable. It makes large, bouncy curls. The large barrel has two advantages over my shorter OEM: it's faster since I can curl more hair at one time and it's easier to use (less picky than the shorter one). As far as fit, it works great. It's a slightly tighter fit than the OEM, but not a problem. The bidirectional feature works great and makes travel easier since I only have to carry one instead of two. If they offered other sizes, I'd pick those up as well since I use all three of Dysons size offerings. I have an older airwrap with purple accents so it doesn't match, but that's really not a big deal. Overall, a great buy.

I have the HSO5 model and this barrel fits but I did have to kinda push it to fit. The Dyson barrels just pop in easily so I was worried about damage to my air wrap by forcing it but so far I haven’t noticed any damage. The OEM barrel runs very hot so take caution. It looks almost identical to the Dyson barrel.

This is a great long barrel curling attachment for the Dyson Airwrap - it fits my air wrap perfectly, and I have the HS05 model. I like that it has the option for bidirectional curling as this allows for the same curl quality on both sides. The barrel gets hot without overheating - it's just hot enough to create excellent bouncy curls in seconds. The barrel is very easy to use and works with hair of various lengths. It's impressive that this barrel has the ability to automatically curl by placing your hair near the barrel, however, I prefer to use this manually. The barrel does not adversely affect the hair, instead, it keeps it soft and helps to create dense, full looking curls. The barrel itself is very lightweight and easy to attach simply by turning it into the airwrap. It doesn't add too much weight to the end of the airwrap, which is nice so my arm doesn't get tired when using it. The barrel has a thick circumference that probably makes it better for longer hair. It's good for curling both the ends of hair as well as hair closer to the base. It seems to be made of quality, durable material, and at this price, I'm quite pleased with this curling barrel as I anticipate that it will last for a long time.

i’ve used this Dyson hair dryer for several years now and have changed the left barrel for the right barrel every time I blow dry my hair. This makes it so much easier with just a simple turn of the knob at the end. Very easy to use great product
