Features

  • Spiral Cutterhead - Cutterhead with 6 rows that holds staggered tungsten carbide inserts for a smooth finish. The design of the cutterhead along with the use of in-house made inserts make cuts with the lowest amp draw compared to others.
  • Two-sided Inserts - Two-sided inserts sit in perfect alignment to the spiral cutterhead. Non-cutting edge designed to prevent insert from skewing while planing. The precision is superior to 4-sided inserts.
  • Powerful 12-amp Motor - 20% boost! Large 12 amp motor, the most powerful compared to other benchtop jointers on the market. Highly effective in making aggressive cuts.
  • Adjustable 24" long aluminum Fence - Features quick stops at 90 and 135 for versatile cutting angles.
  • Fence Enhancement Brackets - Fence enhancement brackets stabilize both ends of the fence for a flawless cut. (Patented in Taiwan.)
  • Elevation Control - Say goodbye to table inconsistencies with the additional guide post. Parallel tables translate to straight cuts at any different depth.
  • Additional Support Rod System - Additional support rod system maintaining a strong upright frame. Sustaining support for heavy-duty work pieces.

  • The Best Jointer For The Money Hands Down.
Size: 12 inch w/ Cast Iron Fence
This was a great choice for my small woodworking shop. Setup wasn't difficult and the machine works beautifully with glass smooth cuts and precise angles. The cast iron construction provides a rock solid base and the cast iron fence doesn't budge while cutting an edge for gluing to another board. I use it with a large Harbor Freight dust extraction system and since the spiral cutting head creates small cuttings they are easily sucked away through the dust extraction port and off of the floor making cleanup minimal after use. I highly recommend this jointer. It wasn't the cheapest option but it was, in my opinion, the best jointer for the money I was willing to spend. It does a great job. ... show more

  • Amazing quality and capacity for the price
Size: 10 inch
This post reviews the Cutech 10-inch jointer. A jointer was the last piece of equipment I needed for my shop. I had been getting by using a sled and shims on my thickness planer to face-level boards. Having a dedicated jointer has made all the difference and motivates me to ensure each piece of material, even the smallest one, is flat, square, and parallel. The powerful jointer does quick and clean work. When I compared the various Cutech and related benchtop jointers, the 10-inch one stood out because it had a comparable footprint to the 8-inch jointers, yet a larger cutting capacity. I could not find any other 10-inch benchtop jointer I could live with. The larger surface has proved invaluable because it allows me to use it for fairly wide stock, such as drawer panels and boxes. When necessary, for very large pieces, I can joint 10-inch boards that I later make into larger panels. The 10-inch capacity is usually enough for most of my needs. Consumers should know that Cutech is owned by Shinmax, a Taiwanese company. Wahuda makes a similar jointer based on the same design. Shinmax sued Wahuda in 2020 for patent infringement in LA federal court after their earlier relationship soured. However, the two companies worked it out in a 2021 settlement and Wahuda (out of Tennessee) was allowed to continue making similar jointers. There are a few interesting differences though. The Cutech has some braces for the jointer fence, which the Wahuda lacks at present. Those supports keep the jointer’s aluminum fence firmly fixed in place. Cutech introduced this designed recently after some customers complained of fence movement. The Cutech has two-sided cutters rather than 4-sided ones, which Cutech says prevents the cutters from spinning out of place during use (the non-cutting edge locks the cutter in place). When worn, the cutters can be rotated once to a fresh blade. Wahuda offers 4-sided cutters claiming they provide longer service because you have twice the cutting capacity of the Cutech and can rotate the cutters more times when worn. I had also considered the Jet 6-inch jointer with the true helical head (the Cutech/Wahuda jointer has a spiral but not helical head). The Jet also has an iron fence (the Cutech/Wahuda has iron tables but an aluminum fence). The Jet is also right around $1000, which is significantly more expensive than the Cutech. In the end, I went with the Cutech because it had the larger cutting capacity, which has proved a huge advantage in my shop. The footprint was not much bigger than the Jet’s smaller jointer, and the fence supports have done a great job keeping the fence properly squared. I decided the fence supports on the Cutech made it superior to the Wahuda, given that earlier buyers had complained about the fence moving a bit before Cutech introduced the fence supports. Bottom line: no regrets at all. ... show more

  • Very nice and plenty of power.
Size: 12 inch w/ Cast Iron Fence
Heavy duty, I have the cast iron fence which I would recommend. Works well, I have not run enough through it to get a feel for the cutters as they are different than helix 4 sided cutter blades, which I have on my Dewalt planer. What I have run through has worked well and looks good. Assembly was easy. Came out of the box align well with only slight adjustments needed on the fence. The fence supports are nice, I wish they would move with fence as I will move the fence around for various widths of wood to use different cutter blades, try to keep the wear on all even. The supports appear to be just for when the fence is all the way back. Not a big deal as the cast iron fence is not liable to flex and has not yet. You can also change the cutter blades that are not getting the heavy use to the areas that are so it would make moving the fence less of an issue. The supports work as intended and they do make the fence solid with no wobble, as such I will likely leave the fence in position as I have it and the supports tuned in. ... show more

  • Probably the best benchtop jointer
I bought the 12'' model when it was on sale around July 4th. The Cutech jointer is unique among its competitors in that it offers a cast iron bed, fence stabilizer and optionally, a cast iron fence sold separately, which I got as well. The combination really gives it the precision needed for the one job of a jointer, which is, not surprisingly, jointing boards with precision. One can safely say that this jointer makes the jump that were made by gaming laptop manufacturers a few years ago, when consumers had the opportunity to pay premium for mobility for the first time. Sure due to limitations of a small chassis it would always underperform compared to a desktop gaming PC, but you are opting for mobility at a reasonable price making reasonable sacrifice on performance. Before that, gaming laptops had been pure joke more or less, unless you'd be willing to shell out outrageous amount of money at one. I'm giving 4 star because of a few minor issues that I think is holding back the brand. 1. Packaging. Packaging is not on par with today's standard if you look at other tool brands with comparable body/weight. The foam used is low quality and already broken in pieces on opening the box. One of the four extension bed adjustment screws was missing and they still haven't sent replacement. My cutter head guard actually snapped at the spring / neck and I had to work with customer service and wait for about a week for replacement to arrive. 2. The cutter head guard assembly has a design flaw where its angle to the bed depends on the bracket that connects it to the frame. The guard obvious needs to stay parallel and above the bed, but in my case I had to wedge in a shim behind the bracket, otherwise the guard would touch the bed (and therefore the cutter, you don't want that). They need to either redesign the whole component and make sure the guard's angle doesn't depend on a much bendable piece of metal, or do some factory testing before shipping out an item. 3. Dust collection. Maybe it's just me but wood chips fly right out from the cutter head before dust collection can do anything. I'm using a high pressure low CFM vac which could be the reason, but shavings are literally flying up around. I mean still a lot of shavings get collected, but my table saw and planer both do a much better job with the same setup. Overall great machine that gets the job done. If you need mobility or have limited shop space, this is definitely worth looking at. ... show more
