I bought this to use for Little League softball practices, and was a bit nervous as to whether it would be sturdy enough to use in a team setting. For the price, however, I figured I’d give it a shot — I’m very glad that I did. Not only were my concerns unwarranted, the net even proved sturdy enough to handle full-speed throws from adults (and with ease). I’m legitimately impressed with the net, and could not be more pleased with the purchase. It has quickly become a staple at my practices due to its reliability, not to mention its versatility — in addition to pitching practice, I also use the net in lieu of a first baseman when doing position-specific infield drills. I expected this net to topple over after a couple of strong throws, but nope — it’s surprisingly sturdy. The combination of double-stitched nylon and fiberglass has the proper combination of flexibility and stability. I’m impressed. Do I think this thing would stop a Randy Johnson fastball (ahh, remember when he hit that bird..)? No, it probably wouldn’t. But within reasonable limits, and when used by most kids and teens, I doubt there will be a problem. Indeed, if your child is knocking this thing over with his or her pitches, I’d recommend you stop reading Amazon reviews and start calling pro scouts! A couple of caveats, though: (1) The listing photos show the net being used to catch footballs. I didn’t try that, but I’d hesitate to use it for that purpose if whoever is throwing the ball has a strong arm. (2) Another listing photo indicates that the net should come with 4 ground anchors, which I received, and 2 sandbags, which I did not. See the marked-up image that I uploaded. I can’t find any reference to sandbags elsewhere in the listing, in other photos, or in the assembly instructions, nor did any other reviewer mention them as of the date of this writing. I see that it also shows “Target Net x4” when there is only one net, so perhaps the contents list in the photo is wrong? For now I’m unsure if the sandbags are missing from my item or if the description is wrong. If they are included, note that it’s not clear how they are meant to be used, although I’d assume they just plop on top of the two forward footers. Finally, as to assembly, I agree with others that this was fast and relatively easy both to set up and to take down. I did it myself in a few minutes, which was a nice surprise because some similar products are tough to put together without a second person helping. The outward-angled upright poles do take some effort to pull taught to fit the net, but overall it was painless. This takes 5 minutes to set up. There's 1 part of the setup process that's difficult each time, due to the tension built into the frame. It's doable by 1 person, but slightly easier with 2 people. The orange fabric is double-stitched. The net is decent, but is not as heavy-duty as what schools have in their more commercial equipment. This is fine for home use, but it may not hold up if it's used much by a team. Due to the size of the net "pockets," they sag quite a bit, making it difficult to see which square you threw the ball into. In my first picture, the balls were thrown into the middle ("5") slot, but they sag to the ground, just like balls that were thrown into the "8" slot. It's a minor issue, and it's probably not anything that the manufacturer could change, because if the net pockets were any shallower, the balls would pop out a lot. As it is, they already occasionally pop out. You get 4 metal stakes to help keep this anchored to the ground, which is nice. 2 issues though: 1) they're metal, and metal on metal is eventually going to wear away some paint and allow rust. This is easily resolved by wrapping the stake or the post with silicon tape first. 2) the stakes don't hold well. Like any smooth stake like this, they pull out fairly easily under pressure. Overall, this is a nice option for anyone needing to practice pitching, particularly on their own. ... show more

It's fairly easy to setup. Does feel a little flimsy. Good product though. I would recommend staking it into the ground or putting sandbags on the feet of net poles.

Packaged with a bag, which I always appreciate! My grandson is a pitcher on a PONY team, and he has some talent. My husband’s side of the family has made reservations for family members that live 100 miles from a lake campground for the Thanksgiving holiday. My plan is to forget corn hole, and let’s see just how good the family is at this instead. Practice setup was easy and fast, as was take down.
