  • So far they work good
We installed this kit on a 1993 F150 with a 302 V8. It is super important to completely clean the system with an engine flush. We replaced all of the hoses and did a complete flush of the engine as well as the heater core and installed a new reservoir tank for the overflow. The truck was getting hot while stopped at red lights and this cured the issue, it stays steady at 190*. We did not use the control unit in this kit. We picked up Mishimoto fan control kit because of its reliability and it has a wire to activate the fans as the A/C compressor is engaged. In AZ that is a must not fail. Just as a note; two days after the fan install the alternator did catch on fire. My son saw the smoke and put it out quickly. All of the wiring was fine, but the guts of the alternator were toast. It may have been a one off but I would suggest a new or fresh alternator and very good tight connections to the alternator. It has been 3 weeks of driving and 1 round trip to Vegas from Phx. and all is good now. ... show more

Make sure you read the ENTIRE description of the product as we just read the heading. it does NOt fit the product we needed it for. The heading CLEARLY states that it WOULD fit the product we needed it for and it DOES not.

  • Not Worth It.
1) Aluminum core was full of debris 2) Brass drain valve not national pipe thread 3) Temp sending unit in kit triggered at 145F degrees 4) Stationary idle with a stock 351w fuel injection and cooling fans could not maintain operating temp after 30 mins of run time. What to do? 1) Have to get a better temp sending unit 2) Replace both cooling fans with ones that hopefully pull more air flow over core; At a cost of $300 for two Spal fans that provide more CFM 3) Hope that drain valve never needs replaced 4) Install a coolant filtration set up to catch any remaing debris from the core. Should I've expected better for the price I paid? I don't know. If I had known how much trouble and extra cost this set up was going to be within the thirty day return period, it would've been packed up a long time ago. Sadly like most people who wrench full time I bought this when I had the money but not the time to install. Now I am stuck with it. Don't make the mistake I made. ... show more
