The chicks had no trouble getting their food and water with these trays and nobody drowned or got dunked. I have two pens of coturnix quail and these are great as I have 4 and can switch them out easily. I've been washing them on the top rack of the dishwasher which is fantastic for busy poultry keepers. These would work well for chicken chicks too.
