  • Excellent quality and workmanship and precision
I used this on a walnut and Hickory candlestick. First I turned a 2.5-in journal on the end of my workpiece with a live Center. Then I remove the live Center installed the chuck and clamped it down tight on the journal and it worked like a charm. Excellent value for the money and you can tell this product is well engineered and I look forward to using it for years and years ... show more

  • Quality tool at a very fair price.
The product was of high quality at a reasonable price. The chuck is used on my wood lathe to hold material as I shape it.

  • Great addition to lathe
I purchased this chuck to augment the one that I already had. With the changeable jaws it allows me to work with more different sizes of turnings than my original chuck. Changing the jaws is quick and easy with the tool provided. I find myself using this chuck more often and I'm very happy with it. It's built rugged enough to handle all my turnings so far. ... show more

  • do not purchase
chuck not true/round, after several screw ups do unround turnings, figured out chuck not true, unfortunately, too old to return. takes your chances on price. 7 in bowl out of round by 1/16 in. buy a quality brand, i now have to purchase a new chuck system that is round.

  • Not the quality you would expect from Record Power
The description says it's a Record Power but it is not the quality you would expect from them. It's made in China of course. This has some nice jaws and the gears are covered but turning the wrench to tighten or loosen you can hit catches. The gears do not mesh smoothly and stick. I have another chuck from RP and it is smooth and durable. Not like this chuck at all. The wrench itself is made out of stainless steel which turned out be an issue because it won't stick to the magnets on my lathe like all my other keys do. Not a big deal but it wasn't convenient. ... show more
