It is a must have while using router to trim woodwork. The router comes with a small ruler but it is not very convenient like this item. And the price is good, easy to use, and could work on excised work.

I have several palm routers and this thing wouldn't properly fit any of them. Even though the instructions say that you only need 2 diagonally matching screws installed at a minimum for it to work, I still could never get it to center up properly on my routers. Now, that being said, even though the holes are not centered up exactly, as long as it doesn't interfere with the bit, and it is securely attached to the base of the router, it will work just fine. I used it this way for a while and it performed flawlessly for making circle cuts as well as arcs and even as an edge guide. However, my OCD overcame me and I ended up using some left over clear acrylic on 1/4" thickness to make a replacement base for my router that matched up with the holes on my router and then added holes to match the slots of this jig so that now everything is lined up perfectly and I'm all happy again. I just think there should have been a better way of "universally" attaching this to multiply router makes and models without having to do what I did and still use all four attaching screws. Now lets talk about the good stuff of the jig. The red anodized finish looks really nice and the etched white measurement scales (in both metric and SAE) really stand out and are easy to read. The squareness of the ruled part to the cross piece is pretty spot on. I like that one I made the base for my router, I never need to take it off since the ruled bar is easy to remove so that I can just use my router like normal with the new square base instead of the original round one. Then when I want to use the ruled attachment, I just fix it back in the slot, put in the thumb screw and do what I need to do with it. Overall, a nice design built with robust and solid material (aluminum I'm sure). Except for the "universal fit" feature, I would have given it 5 stars. Once I "fixed" it, it has now become an essential part of my workshop.
