The shelf looks beautiful. The wood coloring and grain look great with the flat black metal supports, which are angled stylishly. I purchased one several months ago, and now that I need more shelving, just bought four more. The shelf is sturdy and holds a large amount of items.

This shelf fit perfectly in a small space next to my recliner. The length and width are generous and it sticks out from the wall about 7 inches, which is good as it does not get in the way. It is, by itself, a very durable two-tiered shelf and was easy to put together..I used an electric drill for holes and screws; it made it easier. At present, I have about 15 pounds of weight total on the shelf. Each individual wooden shelf is very sturdy. I tried putting up with the 'screw' type anchors (my preference) included but, disappointingly, they ate the drywall, so I had to use plastic wall anchors. (Not the fault of the seller--sometimes the screw-type anchors eat drywall..depending on drywall type, etc.). I didn't use the plastic wall anchors they gave me, but instead I had some larger anchors which, I felt, were more supportive, though what they supplied would have worked as well. I am glad that there were four attachments to the wall vs two attachments to add more support. Though the anchors worked well, I still wanted to ensure more support so I also bought two wooden brackets (about 5 x 4) and attached to the bottom corners and I also put two square (3 x 3) decorative wooden blocks in the middle underneath each shelf. I attached all of them with contractor's cement. Even without the brackets and blocks, the shelf held well, but the brackets and blocks give more support and they actually improve the look of the shelf as well. Overall, I am pleased with it and it helps improve space and storage more neatly.

Overall the product appearance was nice, but I was disappointed to learn when I opened the box, there were NO pre-drilled holes for the screws on the board. Having pre-drilled holes, would have made the assembly that much easier. Not complicated at all to put together, but definitely NOT a one-person putting together. I had to have my son hold it together, while I marked where I was going to drill the holes, then continue holding it so it didnt shift, while I was screwing in the screws. I also had to go out and buy a drill. It looks great however, when completed.

After much looking I decided on Peter Good's Two-Tier shelving unit for my coffee bar. I could not be happier. It's perfect for the space, sturdy, and easy to assemble. The builder/designers of this product thought well in the design and hardware that go with the assembling, adding extra screws just in case. I only wish all products came this well thought out. I would give this 6 stars if I could.
