I know this says it's for mach, but it does also work with linuxcnc. When it was first set up the controller was on a old Dell and the responsiveness of the jog dial was kind of laggy and slow. Needless to say when the old computer died and we moved the control software over to a newer computer with a i5 in it holy smokes this thing is way more responsive. Function wise it works great, given that I'm using linuxcnc and not mach. I just need to spend some time and program the buttons in the hal files to get them to do what I want.

I have messed around with this for about 6 hours now. The most important thing to know is that this is dangerous. After adding the driver for this controller to my Mach3 folder my spindle would turn on and off randomly, which is a massive safety hazard if you're changing a bit. There isn't a manual, after doing some searching online I found where to download the driver for this thing. There is latency in the movement, the movement is not smooth, it will often disconnect and or make Mach3 lose it's position, (Safety issue, and will cause you to waste time and material) I have had 2 instances in the past 6 hours when going to touch of Z, that I have very carefully clicked 1-step at a time doing .001" steps and it just nosedived my Z-axis into the table. A complete waste of time and terrifying.

Device is pretty simple to install. A little bit of latency, and it sometimes causes my computer to lock up in Mach3. Still, it works well if I don’t interrupt my programs a lot, and the device is easy to reset.

Loaded and ran on two independent mach 3 CNC mills running XP Pro. Worked on both. Had a corrupt file on # two. Reloaded mach and fixed the problem. This is a really cool product.

The hardware looks great, but getting it to work is hopeless. No manual or installation instructions in the box. They send you to their dismal website that is mostly in Chinese and every time you select English it goes back to the main page. After finding the proper driver page Chrome refuses to download the files indicating virus contamination. After several hours of struggle I gave up and returned the unit to Amazon.

updated review. The issues I was having was due to an amazing run of bad luck with 16 dead batteries. Totally my fault. The pendant works great. Makes setting up a cut super easy. Working on setting all my macros to make it fully functional for me. Highly recommend this product. It’s nice to not have to jog my machine with the computer keyboard.

Does not work with MACH4. Saw reference on the web it would. Not correct. Was able to return for refund. Wish the company would get it working with Mach4. Seemed to be nice device with mag back and wireless capabilities. Could not test operation however.
