The price of this Digital Microscope is about the cost of a cheap pair of glasses. So any fine print you need to read, it is quick to help with the task. Coupons, labels, tools or just as a toy for the kids. I find this most helpful for reading tap/die sizes which on the round surface are hard to get into focus with glasses. Also the smallest of my craftsman allen wrenches have their sizes stamped on them and this makes quick work of reading those sizes. Starbucks gift cards with the black print on the dark green background are also easy to read with this. I find the pictures grainy, but more than acceptable for this price point. The media could not be loaded. I got this because it will be a handy tool on my desk. Can’t read that tiny print that comes on just about every piece of electronic equipment these days? No problem. Just pop it under the microscope. I am very amazed at what you get with this product. First, you get the microscope with built in lighting. Next, you get a monitor. You also get a stand, a micro SD card, and a charging cable. You have the option to download and use software with the microscope. I did not test the software as I already have software that I like, so I don’t see a reason to clutter my computer with more. The screen is very clear on this microscope and I had no problem focusing. It is very easy to take pictures and videos. One thing that is difficult to do is to click a photo with the buttons and keep the image in focus every time. The buttons are a little stiff and sometimes you get a blurred image due to camera shake. The pictures are in JPG format, and the videos are in AVI format. Personally I don’t care for AVI format because not all Windows programs read it, but there are converters out there to quickly turn it into an MP4 or MOV format. One feature I really like is that I can remove the microscope from the stand and with the built in lights, I can focus on exactly what I want to read. For example, if I’m trying to read the ridiculously small writing on an electronic device that is mounted to a wall and I don’t feel like removing it, I can focus in, take a snapshot and have all the information I need for later. The microscope is very easy to use, came with enough battery load to do the first observations and turned out to be great. We tested with bills, coins, ants, flower petals, sprouts, lizard spinal vertebra and cranium, . The SD port and memory card makes simple to share the photos around. I like the way you can store it ad save space and quickly getting assembled to use again. The battery last long and recharging it is made with a very common USB charger. Be advised that using this microscope will trigger the curiosity of your kids to a point that you'll have to run to get away from the infinite questions they'll start asking you. There are no instructions for setting up the microscope, but it is pretty intuitive. Once I got it put together, I was able to immediately start using it. My kids and I had fun messing with the settings and zooming in on coins. It can go up to 1000x magnification, and there are 8 LED lights. You can adjust the lighting via the scroll wheel on the right side of the screen. It also came with a 32 GB micro SD card, which was nice because most digital microscopes do not. It has an alignment aid setting, which I enabled. The only downside I have found is that while you're getting the microscope to focus, it moves the whole unit around. You have to hold the screen still while you're getting it to focus. Other than that, it is very functional and can be useful in many applications. ... show more
