  • Use this instead of buying a precut design.
If your looking to try this. And simply have things prepped and clean. You'll love it. Don't purchase a precut design. Most likely you'll mess it up or dirty the edges, not have it exactly in place. Take you time, lay out exactly how you want it. Lay over a piece of wrap that's a portion of the price of a plotted precut. And cut it out. You'll have a wrap decal that looks like it came from factory. Once you watch a few videos and test it on some scrap. And practice with your arches and straightness and you'll be good to go ... show more

  • Width matters
Okay. Lessons learned from an advanced beginner. This particular product is intended for design cuts. Meaning, on a flat surface where you have two colors coming together. The tape is very small width (3.5mm) 3m offers a variety of widths… And it matters. When you wrap say where your door and fender lines are. You want 3m Bridge line tape (not to be confused with Design line) as this is specifically made thicker/wider for these joints. This tape is wide enough to cover the joint panel to panel leaving the string in the middle for a perfect cut and tuck. Triline is thicker than design lines 3.5mm. It is best used at areas of transition and indentation and in some panel joints and so on. This website for some reason only offers design line style tapes. It was very frustrating in the beginning. I can say, without a doubt prep is everything. No different than body work prior to paint. All kinds of tips and tricks out there (Youtube) Also, heat gun is your best friend when used cautiously as not to over heat things. This tape worked great for its intended application. The other tapes are hard to find good luck. Hope this helps from one beginner to another… ... show more

  • Easy to use, makes the job easier!
Wanted to add some accents to a Ninja 650 I purchased. Tank was burnt orange but the fairings were all black. Laid down the outline, grabbed some vinyl wrap, and got it done. Took me about 3 hours, if I had to do it over I think I can do it in 1.5-2 hrs.

  • It’s 3M knifeless tape…
We use this stuff at the shop regularly and it’s cheaper to buy here than from my distributors. Designline has a stretchy thread that you can rip by hand, designed for curves and tight shapes, Finishline has a non-stretch thread that doesn’t rip by hand and is best suited for straight lines and moderate curves. Each have their caveats, Designline’s string can rip as you are cutting and Finishline’s string can slip out if you make too tight of a turn and put too much tension on the tape while applying it. Designline also can end up more wobbly for straight lines in contrast to Finishline. We primarily use Designline for everything now. Learn how to use it, getting the first cut started is always tricky for beginners. ... show more
